Shameful

I just want to say that the way some of the fans treated Wayne Wilson today was absolutely disgraceful. If you've got a problem with him, talk to him in private, or explain to the manager why he shouldn't be in the team; don't shout abuse at him in front of 300 people. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

And don't come on here and start ranting bullshit about having the right to voice your opinions, because verbal abuse is not an opinion.

I agree wholeheartedly with you Stuy. After all it is the manager who decides who should be on the pitch. Also I think the ' supporters ' must bear in mind , they do not have the benefit of all the facts.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, and to back up that opinion is every supporters right. I personally dont agree with barrracking/abusing our own players but would like to say WW had a shocking game today and was not IMO worth his weight today. To say that you "Can Not" abuse/barrack plqayers is a red flag to a bull and will cause more dispruption to an already unstable team....

Trouble is, i think you'll find some people only feel brave enough to voice their opinion as a group!

He's not the only player to have suffered this in recent seasons, fans will always pick out a scape-goat in the bad times.

Also, i think the last thing a player out of form wants is to be confronted by a fan telling him he's playing badly.

Do you know what Stuy, the first thing I was going to do when I got in was to express my annoyance at the abuse Wayne got but did not bother as I expected it to turn into a slanging match.

Don't get me wrong, I have had a go at players in the past but Wayne was today singled out for some absolutely needless stick. Admittedly he did not have a great game but there were a lot worse passes out there than the ones he got stick for.

A prime example was when he had the ball and Joseph started making a forward run. Just as Wayne clipped the ball forward Joseph stopped his run and the ball went into space. Cue someone shouting 'F*** off Wilson' which he clearly heard. If Joseph had not checked his run he would have found himself one on one with the 'keeper with the ball in a good striking position. It was a good ball but because another player changed his run it was just another excuse to get on Waynes back.

Eight or nine months ago the Supporters were voting him payer of the season. Pretty much all this season he has been criticised and although he certainly is not playing as well as he did last term, everyone knows what a quality player he can be, and maybe all it needs is a bit of supprt to get his confidence back.

I didn't hear what I assume you are talking about so can't comment

However,Stuy,Wayne Wilson has been undeperforming for most of the season.

Very occasionally though Wayne has a better game but his consistency is missing. His overall defending & ariel abilities today were very good, his workrate can't be questioned either but his passing was woeful. This has been noticed on more than one occasion this season. I certainly don't go along with others that one player is always picked out every season for abuse. Thats utter rubbish!.

If he or any other player continues to under-perform then that's what its going to look like. Wayne needs to give himself a second more when on the ball & not rush his passes. He needs to work on this part of his game.Or maybe he is but just can't get things right on the day.

When he DOES put this part of his game together & rights the wrongs I'm sure he will get just as much praise as he is getting criticism right now. (re: last season)

Only HE can stop any criticism of him by going on that the training pitch, work on his failures, getting them right & then to transfer that to the 90 minutes of a first team game. Steve is correct in that one instance he did put through a good ball but overall this part of his game has been too rushed, in the past as it was today.

As mentioned elswhwere Wayne IS a better player than he is showing but right now its so frustrating to see him in this form. As it is with another player or two (in my eyes)

Finally, you bringing this up on here, though you are entitled to,as we are entitled to give our views on or away from the game (yes we are), isn't helping things either.

In the supporters defence I would add to your critisism of the support that they seem to turn up regardless of weather/time and obvious lack of crowd pleasing football, everyone and I do mean everyone is entitled to their opinion and not all will support/agree with their views.. Please all the people all the time and you have managed to find a formula that no other team/organisation has found.

I would just like to add that in contrast Duncans passing today was of the highest quality. Gave himself time, played the simple ball, the right ball & always looked up & around for players in good positions to pass to. Today he was a good example of how to play it simple & with perfect pace & direction Didn't put a foot wrong as far as I was concerened. Super!

Today was a difficult day weather wise against a team prepared to get a victory but at times prepared to protect what they had (in the second half we saw one or two Margate strikers against five defenders working together.)

Wayne may have had a off day as did others but overall I thought the game was not too bad and a fair result.

What happened in the bar should not have happened and a couple of people over reacted.

Bearing in mind we have always been and should always be a friendly and family based club certain individuals should have taken a deep breath before openning their months where young children ( including a family attending their first Margate game) are about.

If a player has a bad patch then support him (or them) to help them get better and be of benefit to Margate FC.

Supporters too should show they are a benefit to the club and not seem to select one player per season to be the boo boy.a practise that has been going on for 30 years to my knowledge

So a player or players have a bad game ok it's not nice but put it in contex it's a football match and yes I would like a good team performance every week and shoot up the table but it's not the end of the world unlike for some in the news at the moment. It's Ryman league for gods sake players have other commitments they travel miles for training, playing sometimes twice a week then getting up for work the next day. I agree it is frustrating when a player under performs but that's life and to get stick from 'their own supporters' is real bad. I bet many on this fourm have off days at work so just imagine being slagged off in front of your work colleagues but still have to carry on for the rest of your shift...not nice is it!

Don't get me wrong, I know it's incredibly frustrating watching the same player play poorly week in week out, but with the budget we have and at the level we're playing at you're going to get a lot of bad games, and you're not going to get any world class performances. We're all smart enough to realise that, and we're also all smart enough to realise that shouting at a player like that isn't going to change anything.

One thing about Wayne is the confidence he plays with, he's always trying to be involved and getting in the thick of it - he probably realises he's not performing at his best at the moment ... but he's not trying to hide. Let's not try & break him !

I wasn't at today's game, so won't offer an opinion on whatever went on, but just remember that whatever the level...

Players - take money out of the club.

Fans - put money into the club.

you say fans put money into the club ok agreed but why put money into something that you love then abuse it , pointless , its easy to stand and shout abuse at people and its even easier to pick out someone and shout abuse . I do agree that Wayne`s season is way below par on last season but i don`t agree that we should turn on our own players because we think fit to . It dosen`t stop at the one who is abused it will and does affect the whole squad , they all have ears on the pitch and they can all here what there own surporters are saying and then the opposition will pick up on it and use it as well as i think they did today . We were well below par for the last 30mins so don`t you think maybe Ashford did pick up on it and used it to there advantage knowing that MFC surporters were turning on there squad .

POSSIBLY IT WAS THE HOME FANS THAT LOST 3PTS TODAY AND NOT THE 11 ON THE PITCH .

Hockton , Lamb , Lebrel , Peters are just 4 names that have been verbally abused by surporters in resent times there are many more im sure but these 4 were dedicated mfc and that wasn`t enough for some . Forgot to mention Micheal Power slagged of till he buggered off for good now he is banging in goals for Braintree town who sit 5th in Conf Sth .
