Some very low attendances today in ryman prem games. I suppose most people thought today's games wouldn't be on and arranged to do other things.

Considering that 1. Bognor have a very small following

2. A lot of people did not think it would be playable.

3. It is nearing the end of January, where money is tight.

4. We do very little advertising.

5. Weather was poor.

6. What else can i think of.................................................. our attendances this season have been dropping fact.

the banners where one was placed on the bell corner and one on the corner outside pizza express, were covering the table where the programmes were being sold.

I thought that these were made to advertise Hornchurch home games on a Saturday?

So why are they being used as a table cloth instead of beign in full view of the public in Upminster?

You can do all the publicity you can to promote your club and still it doesn't pay off.

We've tried various things at Canvey and still people don't come.

AS Blackballed explained, it was uncertain whether the game was going ahead, along with the cost effectiveness, as those banners are rather expensive to lose, we are currently looking at other ideas to promote the Saturday game. But WE are only a small part of the club and advertising is something that WE all must consider to improve our attendances.

So if anyone would like to print off some posters and hand them around the shops, or print off some flyers to hand out, I am sure that we can fund the production of any idea that will increase our attendances.

We are currently in the process of arranging our attendance to the local School summers fair's.

Which should encourage the children to attend, which in return the adults will be the escort.

This again needs planning, sourcing and people to come along and help.

So if you know of a school who would like a beat the keeper competition, please pass on their details.

my personal opinion is that until ownership of the club is sorted we will continue to struggle.Every club needs stability,if you don't have it then your reputation goes down.

Look at the premier league, its no coincidence that our two most famous clubs are now struggling because of problems behind the scenes

Mad I know, but I actually agree with you on this one Rob, when I said in my prediction that I thought the attendace would be under 200 I meant it. The numbers have been dwindling all season despite a generally decent run of late.

However I also agree with the otherside of the argument and don't have any answers on how to improve the gate.... these are just mere observations and exactly what our forums should be used for.

well said.People can harp on about credit crunch as much as they want but clubs like hornchurch and many others in our situation should be thriving.

People will always want to watch football,it is very expensive to watch premier league football, gates are down in the premier league, west ham are struggling to fill their ground, they charge silly amounts now to watch football in the top league,we charge £9,well affordable

Perhaps now we are back on the ryman premier league top half featured on sky sports news, perhaps our gates will increase

maybe in light of tootings poor attendance tonight against borehamwood (147),perhaps the leagues and clubs should look at reducing the prices for adults???

i know £9 isn't much but that can almost buy you a ticket to some bundesliga/la liga/serie a games in europe

I know the clubs may not like it but in the current climate perhaps dropping prices for league games to a fiver may increase the crowds considerably, once they are in the ground most people spend money over the bar or in a club shop or for refreshments/raffles etc
