And so nothing has happened

Not been on here for a week because I find it all too depressing at the moment. And what do I find on my return? Absolutely no progress has been made at all. By the looks of it next season will see Gary in goal and other fans making up the subs bench. I am begining to see a new all time low on the way....East Grinstead Town.

If and this is a big if Deaner does hand the club over to the fans with the ground money in place will we actually be able to generate enough cash for a decent playing budget? I only missed a handful of games last season and would like to think I can make them all this year(if indeed we play at all). Not sure how much more time and money I can give to the club beyond that.

Well Martin, I share your disappointment but on past record did we really expect anything to have happened? I read all the posts here last week and there were lots of questions about what had happened at the training session, who was there etc, but nobody knew - so how come the Observer was able to publish all that stuff (see Dom's post below) when apparently the fans and the official website have none of this information.

And we hear that the Windsor guy will let us play on even if we don't pay up by August 1st for the balance of the rent (Observer again!) - starting to get a bit close, isn't it - just like always - it will be two weeks to go shortly and where have we heard that before!

But how long will he keep his kind offer open? End of August? I can't see them being happy with the ground getting a poundng for no cash....

Apparently the Observer tried to get a call into Mr Deaner but no luck. No change there then, either. One glimmer I suppose is that Andrew Deaner turned up for the training session - I wonder if his Dad had said something to him?

So if apparently nobody, the Owner, Supporters Club, The Council, the MP, the Fans, the Team, the League, knows what on earth is going on, does even Roy know what is going on), I can't see us even making the first friendly - will the team cough up for the travelling expenses with no cash in sight? If they do know something, then it is a funny way to get the fans on your side, but as a press article said the other week, the fans are the last concern of football club owners.

There is a feeling of the "inevitability of gradualness" about all this - look Slough is heading for a brick wall, closer .... closer..... will they make a last minute escape?.... closer.... closer... ooh look they've crashed into it - what a surprise!!!

But seriously, if that ground money is not paid before too long, the club HAS finally had it - if there are no means to pay the money for the rent it is finally all over.

So come on Mr Deaner, stop P*ssing about, do we have a club or not? You cannot expect people to take you seriously with all this messing about, so if you haven't got the cash, say so and stop wasting everybody's time and effort.

Sorry to be so negative, folks, but this time we can really see the buffers and the train driver doesn't seem to be braking......

At the first and only meeting with Deaner he PROMISED to give Chris a cheque that evening for ground rent at Windsor if the "fans" voted that they wanted to go to Windsor

I beleave that the majority was in favour of Windsor

To now hear that Windsor have not seen any money is worrying.

What has happened to the money? was a cheque ever writen?

With only ten or eleven players turning up for training, is being a good footballer high on our list of priorities?! Just getting a squad together of any ability is hard enough all the time we are in Deaner's limbo land.

Fair point, but with many players hearing so much about the sort of money Deaner promises (Surprising they haven't heard about him not delivering it mind), it still remains a very attractive proposition should you even receive a percentage of that money.

We could have built a much better squad than we had last season on half the £3,800 a wekk budget it was supposedly on.
