Desperate for football

Don't know if i can handle another footie free Saturday. Anyone got any plans to go to any games (assuming any are on). What about AFC Wimbledon v Mansfield Sue?

Windsor and Eton could still be on...

We had a pitch inspection this morning and the game is officially on at Stag Meadow, WEFC v Hungerford. I expect the pitch will be pretty heavy (and the latest rain won't have helped that) but after two weeks' break, a game is a game :)

So Windsors game only just made it after an inspection (element of doubt about conditions!) and along with Holloways park being 80 metres higher (Stag Meadow 33metres above sea level and Holloways Park being 113 metres above sea level) there is no surprise that the Slough game is off!.

It is generally recognised that there is an approximate 1 degree centigrade drop in temperature for every 100 feet of altitude, along with Holloway Park being more exposed and away from sources of heat such as Windsor town, In addition to there being more snow fall in Beaconsfield in the first place, this then accounts for the reason why there is still a lot more snow at Beaconsfield.

There's no snow left here, except where it was piled up, but I suspect the pitch needed inspection more for being waterlogged. However I'd agree that Windsor had way less snow to begin with, that was pretty clear just from the pictures.

Is the new Slough ground lower-lying & more sheltered? At least if you're building a new ground from scratch you can allow for things like cover, drainage etc from the start...
