Keeps - A simple question, no strings attached, when you lived in the Black Country were you anywhere near Coseley

Why don't you PM him? Can't you leave a single topic to stay on it?

Good Luck to both Spartan teams who both have tough games should they go ahead on Saturday. Brimsdown Rovers have signed ex Enfield Town midfielder "King of Columbian's" Steve Velandia from Hitchin Town in time for the game. He's a top quality very skilfull midfielder who could easily play at a higher level. Hopefully both teams will make it through although Daventry are having a very good season.

TheColdEnd - Have you got your eye on an FA Vase tie for Saturday, can you see Royston getting a four figure crowd if the game goes ahead or is that expecting too much

Rhodes, Hoepfully Town's game against Romford at Aveley will go ahead but I can't see it myself as there is still alot of snow lying about in Essex and Hertfordshire. I can't see many games going ahead if the weather stays as it is.

As you know Royston have probably the biggest fan base when called upon in the SSML so a crowd of over 1000 is not beyond the realms of possibility... They did get 800+ for their championship decider last year.. Hoepfully they may reach the Twin Towers (sorry....Arch!!!) and the town will empty for the day and travel on mass to North London to watch them play Brimsdown Rovers... Who Knows???

... sorry - not on the right board but hey! - Romford v ETFC OFF according to Mitoo ...

... I've had my eye on Royston v Tipton too - but weather's not been kind and I'm not sure the M25 will co-operate either on Sat lunchtime - it doesn't usually!

... so expect I'll be heading somewhere a bit nearer home - though to be honest there's not much surviving round here either!

Hellenic League have called a 'block' postponement - as have the B&B & Oxon FAs with quite a few local Councils ruling out use of pitches too!

OFF TOPIC ALERT

Naah not me - had to take my middle one Trampolining! :frown:

... ensured I had full control of the Remote in the Lounge (and THAT doesn't happen too often) I expected a right 'thrapesing' but was decidedly ecstatic about the win and the performance - helped even more that it was against the Premier Club I have the most animosity towards of all of the over-rated media-hyped $&!£bags.

Loved the 'You'll never walk alone ..." that started up on 90 mins then the raucous booing from the home crowd at the end of FT and ET ! Classic interview from Rafa too! :cheesy (2):

PS any news on Royston yet?

I imagine it would be easier to name the games that are going ahead?

Krafty - That's what I find a bit strange as the thaw started a couple of days ago now yet games are dropping like flies, whatever happened to the good old fashioned 'all hands to the pump' with shovels, brooms and wheelbarrows full of sand

  • 2 weeks later...

Royston 2 - 1 Tipton Town after extra time

Firstly the official attendance was listed as 365 but I have to be honest it looked closer to 465 to me but then again I never counted. Tipton were a very physical welll organised side who worked very hard and may feel slightly downhearted not to have won the tie outright. The young referee allowed far too much from the visiting side to go unpunished thoughout the game. Three first half bookings could and should have been double but the action was quite cagey in the first half with a couple of half chances for each team

The second half was much better with Royston scoring early through Ryan Lockett but a free header from a corner minutes later levelled the tie. Tipton took some pretty good control of the game but would rue a couple of misses from very good chances the best coming in the 8th minute of 11 minutes stoppage time (yes 11 minutes) - stuff fergie time !!!

The tie swayed in Royston's favour with a deserved sending off after an off the ball incident (spotted for once by the referree) of a Tipton forward early in extra time.

Due to this and tiredness the game became very open and nervy but with just a minute remaining a great cross was headed in by Will Turl to send everyone nuts (yes nuts !!). Tipton crestfallen , Royston jubilant but thats what it becomes at this stage.

In terms of quality I have not seen a better defensive side than Tipton this season their record of ten conceded in eighteen games in their own league would be warranted on this evidence. Royston I felt were never at their best. Maybe having such a young side they looked alittle overrawed with the occasion at times but two very very goad goals won them the game.

As they say the rest is history - roll on the last 16 AT HOME AGAIN :excited:
