Bath/Swindon Report

Recommended Posts

I have just got back from the West Country tour and I can report there is a lot for everybody to be optimisitc. about.

The exisiting squad players look fit (including Matt Lee who has fully recovered from his back problem), the new signings look good(with Robin Trott and Anthony Hogg setting up the Fridge's goal at Bath and James Pennock bagging a pair in the two games) and the trialists all showed enough class to warrant closer scrutiny.

Pat Gradley, Andy Drury, Jame Bent, Eddie McClemence and Lee Shearer were all impressive.

Jeran Meah and Scott Goodwin didn't make the trip due to personal circumstances. Also missing were Adrian Pinnock and Rob Owen.

I can also confirm that Andy is still VERY active in his search for new players and there will be more new faces before the start of the season.

We won 4-0 at Bath with two goals from Tostao Kwashi(including a bizarre celebration which left everybody puzzled), Francis Duku(deadly from three feet after Hogg's corner was nodded down by Trott) and a rasper from Pennock.

Against a "robust" Swindon side we took the lead through a Pennock shot which bobbled over the keeper before they turned the screw to win 3-1. Demot Gallagher was the referee.

McKimm and Skinner missed this match but Strouts made it after missing the Bath encounter.

See you all against Millwall on Thursday when there will be a full report of these games in the Reporter.

Thanks for the report, but I think you have your Pinnocks & Pennocks mixed up. James Pinnock scored the goals in both games and Adrian Pennock was unable to make the Tour. I think there were similar problems when they were at Gills.

Further to Chas's report, we had a chat with Dermot Gallagher and believe it or not he appears to be a really nice person with some interesting views on the state of officialdom in the game.
