First The Snow...Then The Thaw...And Now Bloody Rain!!!

Okay...not wishing to depress people even further but has anyone considered what the thaw and rain will do to our pitches? I took an opportunity to walk around the garden this morning and was shocked at the amount of water coming up from the ground...Fair enough, our pitch has fairly better drainage than my back garden but I'm just wondering about this Saturday's game away at Tooting...I believe their pitch is on a flood plain and if that is true, do we know what plans there are going to be for an inspection?

I know we all want the season to re commence...I like others are beginning to wonder what our players look like, let alone how they play but the weather is one of those immovable "happenings" which we can't really do anything about...

Sorry if this puts a "dampner" on things and I don't wish to "rain" on the "thaw" parade but looking at the forecast, I'm wondering will the game go on?

I got bollocked on another site yesterday for moaning about 'global warming'.

I was told it wasn't global warming - It was Climate Change !

Dunno Bill...been watching it on TV but it ain't the game I remember...People kicking a ball about and falling over when other players brush against 'em, rolling about in some sort of agony...

Back to the weather...something that has been happening over the past month or so.

Big JR, I am surprised that those people haven't latched on to this thread...such is their delight in pouring ridicule on us that question the so called "facts". What they appear to forget is that, we have had floods, snow, heatwaves and storms prior to "global warming"...sorry, "climate change". In the first half of the last millenium, it was warm enough to grow all sorts of exotic things including vines for wine in this country...but for one scientist who didn't like what the data did to his "global warming / climate change" stats, who ignored and doctored his stats (the world famous and flawed hocky stick graph) and conned the UN and the major governments of the World (who, to be fair to him, saw an opportunity to make a huge wedge of personal cash for themselves).

The thing is, you can't even discuss the subject with these people as they take a zealous, self righteous stand. One particular person closed and arguement with me by miming to shoot me!!! It's almost the a religion, taking on the same "ilk" as the inquisition of a certain, less glorious, period of history during the 15th Centruy
