ringer???

The other day i came across a 2 years- old team sheet and i found out that one of the players that are registered with us,played for this ESL team against us back then. When i questioned him,he didn't remember at all playing away to Hullbridge and he stated that only played some pre-season friendlies for them to which i replied jokingly:"they must have played a ringer then!!

Joking aside i find quite amusing that players at senior level can play without showing some kind of id forms(driving licence, passport etc) with an updated photograph.Basically i can pick up any Smithy or Ringer and play them under someonelse name, away to a team up in London where nobody knows us and get away with it.

I remember playing and the referee had a team list with my FA registration number,my identity card that i had to give to my club secretary on the day and before the game in the changing rooms he was calling my surname to which i had to reply telling him my christian name and he would check if my face matched the photo in my id card.

What you reckon? We have had cases even in the FA Cup of unregistered players playing under different names. What's your opinion about it?Should we leave like this or tighten up a bit? :571:

I also found it strange that youngsters playing in the Eastern Juniour Alliance (EJA) more rules than parliament have these photo cards, but then mens football dont.... i agree with you.... is that a first..?..

Sussex Ladies League, (adult 0ver 18), have to have League photo registration cards. I can see it coming into all non-league football shortly.
