FA Trophy Draw

With all of Saturday’s FA Trophy Second Round ties having been cancelled due to the icy weather, Monday’s Third Round draw at Wembley couldn’t give us any clear-cut fixtures. It turned out to be a draw with more ‘ors’ than an Olympic rowing final.

 

But Trophy holders and Conference Premier table-toppers Stevenage Borough know that a home victory over Vauxhall Motors in the Second Round will hand them another home tie in the next round against the winners of Fleetwood Town v Dover Athletic.

 

Newport County, blazing a trail at the top of the Conference South, face a similar situation. If they get past York City at home in Round Two, they will entertain Stalybridge Celtic or Corby Town at Newport Stadium.

 

Chelmsford City’s tie with Crawley Town on Saturday was the last to be postponed, but tonight’s second attempt has already been aborted. The winners, when they eventually get down to business, will face Oxford United or Woking at home.
