SLOUGH PEOPLE’S CHANCE TO PITCH TO DRAGONS’ DEN STAR JAMES CAAN

 

Dragons’ Den star James Caan will be weighing into Slough on Monday, January 11, giving local people the chance to pitch to the millionaire entrepreneur.

James will be visiting the town to open the nuyuu gym in Herschel Street and members of the public will have the opportunity to pitch and win a year’s free membership at the gym .

“I’ll be giving Slough people one minute to say why they deserve free membership. I’ll be weighing up what they say before deciding whether they’re in or not,” said James.

In all 10 12-month memberships are up for grabs at nuyuu fitness which is part of a new chain of gyms launched by the entrepreneur in October.

Nuyuu in Slough has taken over the former LA Fitness gym and will be transformed in time for James’s official opening in January giving members state-of-the-art equipment and unrivalled prices.

Members of the public who turn up for the opening at 6pm will be given a raffle ticket and if their number is pulled out of the hat, they will have the opportunity to pitch.

“I want to hear why they think they deserve free membership and they have just one minute to sell themselves to me. They have to be prepared and we’re also up for a bit of fun if they want to make maximum impact,” added James.

In addition, existing LA Fitness members will have the chance to pitch James and compete in the process after an internal draw.

The pitch marks the official opening of nuyuu Slough and a week of activity including equipment demonstrations and classes.

 

As well as the pitch, James will also be hosting an official civic reception with local dignitaries later in the evening.

Nuyuu Slough is one of the first in the pioneering leisure group which anticipates it will have a chain of 50 gyms across the country within the next two years.

It is backed by James’ s private equity company Hamilton Bradshaw and headed by former LA Fitness National Sales Manager Ben Silcox who is MD of the new chain.

Work started to transform the gym with a full refurbishment, including state-of- the- art cardiovascular and resistance equipment from the globally renowned Precor company and Vibrogyms which dramatically accelerate weight loss, in October.
