Essex Senior League players overseas or going

[A welcome in NZ]

Anyone know of Essex Senior Lge players that have gone overseas and done well ?

 

It is interesting to note that players who have gone from non league or lower league in England have gone on to appear at the World Club Cup which involves (in 2009) the likes of Barcelona (Messi etc), Estudiantes etc and/or have been local stars overseas.

 

Paul Gothard (keeper), formerly of Chelmsford City, Grays Athletic, Dagenham & Redbridge, Billericay Town, Thurrock FC, Hayes played for a New Zealand club in December 2009 as did Adam Dickinson (striker), just a Youth player at Tranmere.

 

Their team came 5th in the World Club Cup in Abu Dhabi.

 

Another that comes to mind is Neil Sykes (captain), again just a lower league club player in England who played for an NZ club at the World Club Cup in Tokyo.

 

Someone also mentioned a Jack Lyons recently, formerly of Horsham FC.

 

What a great experience for these guys, travelling around, seeing the World and playing football !
