Ian_W
In order to try and beat the current weather situation, Monday's night match away at Aveley has been postponed and re-arranged for Wednesday evening at 19:45. This new date is subject to the weather and we will update the information closer to the new date. Making this change gives us the greatest chance to get the match on. Eastside Urchin
This is a cracking idea by both clubs and maybe the league if they have anything to do with it. This game needs to be played but judging by the weather reports for sunday/monday there was no chance of it being on monday night. Still doubt it will be on wednesday but at least it gives the game a bit of a chance should the weather relent monday/tuesday.Well done all
Ian_W
Not sure on priorities - but this could alter again Chelmsford City's FA Trophy match today with Crawley Town is postponed - this has been re-arranged for Monday 18th January. This is the date that Chelmsford were going to play Aveley in the Essex Senior Cup, which replaced City's original match Dorchester Town. Now, Essex Senior Cup matches take priority over league, although I thought they also take priority over FA Trophy, but obviously not if Jeff King is director of football As a result if the Essex FA want matches to be played before February, they might request Chelmsford City attempt to play Aveley this coming week. We should know on Monday as to when Chelmsford will play Aveley in the Essex Senior Cup - but at the moment the above match is still on for Wednesday. Of course this could all be academic anyway. All good fun.....

Eastside Urchin
I don't know why the essex fa don't suspend the competition till the start of march, they only have 3 rounds to play and could play the final at the end of the season

Does anybody know the latest news for this game regarding the pitch???
Ian_W
Will have a better idea come Tuesday. But things are looking up To think we will play just 3 games in a month and all against the same team - has that ever happened before?
Eastside Urchin
to be honest i haven't really missed football. Not sure if it is because i couldn't be ar$ed to watch it in the cold or if its because of the uncertainty of the future of the club is just dragging on and on.I am missing the bognor game because i am away for alices birthday but i am more p1ssed off that i will be missing american matts one game back than i am about the footy

Pitch Update as at 4pm Monday 11th .......... Just left the ground and we still have a 2 inch covering of snow over the whole ground. There is also loads of snow on parts of the terrace, and in the car park. It is not looking good ... We have offered to put the game back a further 24 hours (agreed by the league if both clubs are ok with it) .............. I will further update tomorrow morning

But things are looking up To think we will play just 3 games in a month and all against the same team - has that ever happened before? From the start of the 62-3 season up to October 20, Romford met Chelmsford six times, including four times in 23 days. Netherfield played Bridlington Trinity seven times in October 1980 - Six FA Trophy replays (a record never to be broken).

Eastside Urchin
we played tilbury in the esl and then essex senior cup and league cup etc, seems like we played them 20 times in a season
coupwotcoup
Aug 20 Chelmsford v Romford (SL) Aug 27 Chelmsford v Romford (LC) Sep 5 Romford v Chelmsford (LC) Sep 12 Romford v Chelmsford (SL) Oct 8 Chelmsford v Romford (EPC) Oct 20 Chelmsford v Romford (FAC) If you go back to the 60s when playing 60+ games a season was the norm, it has probably happened more times than you think. Especially with the Floodlight League hosting 10/12 teams, plus other county and national competitions.
coupwotcoup
we played tilbury in the esl and then essex senior cup and league cup etc, seems like we played them 20 times in a season ...and last season we played Enfield three times in different competitions in 11 days. As I said, at non-league level I am sure it is a regular occurence.
