ive just came across a facebook group trying to get West Ham United to visit Basildon United this year:

 

'On August 11th 1970 Basildon United played their first ever match at their brand new Gardiners Close Stadium against West Ham United, next year will see the 40th anniversary of this match, we demand that West Ham United send a side back to Gardiners Close to mark the occasion'

the groups called 'Basildon united v west ham 2010,lets make it happen' and already has 7,000 members.

My first visit to Basildon was in August 1972. Seem to recall falling in the nettles behind one of the goals having consumed copious amounts of Red Leb... man....
