No its not, points/signal failures at Hither Green :biglaugh:

More expense catching High Speed again ;)

Well trains are more reliable (believe it or not they actually are) but its Network rail that needs to get their act together to make them so. Its down to them to make sure the tracks are clear & working properly for us to have a clear run & be on time. The occasional train fail I agree does occur but no-more so than other transport. You just don't hear about them though.

Alan do you find those high speed trains very cold inside what with the excessive air conditioning. I won't be travelling on those unless my schedule forces me to.

I know it won't effect us, at least not for the moment, but a new league ruling was announced this week, making it compulsory for all 1st and 2nd division clubs to have adequate frost protection for the 2010/2011 season. This will be in the form of undersoil heating or frost covers which must conform to league approval. Thats a big expense for some of the smaller clubs in the league.

The high speed line will be useful when Ebbsfleet are in the Ryman.

Cruel but :biglaugh:

Whilst the expense is beyond most non league clubs;it continues to amaze me that synthetic pitches are still dis-allowed by the FA.

As the phrase goes-'wake up and smell the coffee'.

Its not so much the staging of football matches-but in austere times-which are likely to continue- the ability to generate revenue from your pitch asset 7 days a week.

Sooner ,rather than later-someone will see sense and allow it ,and the floodgates will open.

Prediction 1-by end of this decade, more than 50% of league clubs play on artificial pitches.

As more 'subscribe', the costs will tumble down and thus :

Prediction 2 -by end of the folowing decade-2029-more than 50% of current non league clubs at steps 1-3 play on artificial pitches
