Half the season gone for some only.....Hanworth Villa have played 25 games, Badshot Lea 15 and Bookham 16! If the weather this month is as bad as forecast, those two teams will be playing Thursdays as well as Tuesdays come March!

From a title point of view, I reckon Badshot & Chessington will have too much ground to make up so realistically that leaves NGU, Cambo & Chertsey. Too close to call at the moment, but good to have a title race for once!

Key dates for your diaries (weather permitting!):

16 Jan - Camberley v Chessington & Hook

2 Feb - Chertsey v Badshot Lea

6 Feb - Chertsey v Camberley and Badshot Lea v NGU

20 Feb - Chertsey v NGU

6 Mar - Badshot Lea v Chertsey

10 Apr - NGU v Chessington & Hook

17 Apr - Chessington & Hook v Chertsey

20 Apr - Camberley v Badshot Lea

So, February is a key month for Chertsey with 3 home '6 pointers' and if they win those they will be sitting pretty. 6th Feb is 'Grand Slam Saturday', so a quandry for Nice Guy on that day ;)

The league bulletin today mentioned the possibility of Premier Division games being played on the Saturday & Monday of the May day holiday weekend with Division One games hopefully completed by May 15th.

It looks like the Camberley v Badshot Lea re-arrangement took the Baggies last available Tuesday for the season so they could be first to have games re-arranged after the season's supposed to end.

I wonder if doing away with their reserves could be a factor in the next couple of months. I think the clubs with the biggest squads will be able to cope better

Do we know who's applied for promotion yet? I know of two clubs but there must be more. The FA will be revealing the list in the next few days....

Interesting that Camberley v Badshot Lea has been arranged for April 20th,how is this done by the League or mutual agreement by the Clubs involved. And is the League bulletin online for all to view.

BT (had to edit - I thought you were Nicey!!!) - have a look at Badshot Lea's calender on Mitoo:-

http://72.3.224.252/...DivisionID=6632

There's a gap next week but we've got a game then so it couldn't be put in there. I've just noticed they've got a gap between March 20th & April 3rd as well but that's it. They're still in the League Cup and Surrey Senior Cup and both ties are winnable which will tip them over the edge.

I expect Bookham / Dorking and Banstead / Epsom may be in a similar position.

And then of course you have to take into account reserve and youth games.

The pitches will be taking a hammering from February onwards!!

Your other question - the league bulletin isn't online - it's sent by email each week. Your secretary will have a copy.

So summizing that our cup game against Badshot Lea does not go ahead this Wednesday, this game will not be played until April at the earliest. They could always give us a bye of course,so as to lessen their fixture congestion, would this be allowed. And any further progress by either Club will only complicate matters further,as their in Surrey Cup also.

WHEN Wednesday's game is postponed the league will change a league game to fit the cup game in. They're already talking about the next round in this week's bulletin -

The draw for the 4th Round and the Semi-Finals of the competition will be made at the next Board Meeting on Monday 11 January.

As far as possible 4th Round matches will be scheduled for week commencing Monday 9 March and the semi-finals for week commencing Monday 23 March. If necessary any league matches already scheduled for these dates will be re-arranged.

The person responsible for the fixtures, Alan, knows what he's doing. He's been doing it for years. Full credit to him as he's got three divisions to sort out and, as some of the groundshares involve teams from other leagues, he can be limited in which dates he uses for games.

Just don't make any jokes about Middlesex to him though - he gets a bit touchy about it!

Updated league fixtures, including yesterday's postponed games, can be found on the "unofficial" league website, which I always prefer to the "official" site - more user friendly & updated quicker. Only one Preier Division game not yet rescheduled - Cove v Croydon - so all credit to the secretary.

As for the title race, Camberley seem to be the most consistent side. North Greenford score more goals but probably concede too many for a side aiming to win the league. Chertsey could do it but could get distracted if they progress in the Vase.

VPCTFC,Thanks for your clear and concise reply. This season could well go into May for many teams, but Camberley are in the driving seat with points in the bag already, going to be tough for anyone to pass you.I did tip you up to win the Title when I first posted on this site, after I saw Rob Sheridan on loan at Camberley.

Lots of twists and turns to come.

Badshot Lea look good but for me will have too many games to catch up, having no ressie side as VPCT says will harm them in the long run.

Camberley seem most consistent and seem to make good signings when needed, also have strength in depth which others dont.

Chertsey probably best players, management will cost them, good manager would have won league by now with players they have had and money they are spending.

NGU looked poor Saturday but have seen them look great going forward. Similar to Badshot in that strength of squad might harm them if they get few injuries or suspensions.

Chessington personally not been impressed by them but are up there, can see them having big say as they have to play most other top sides.

Molesey and Ash have the ability to take points of the top sides and could decide where title ends up.

If your still reading I think the top 4 will be Camberley, North Greenford, Chertsey and Badshot Lea but not sure what order.

Wembley, Hanworth Villa and Banstead to go down.
