Fenny at it again

Although,i must admit he has, this time been very subtle in his dealings with the recorder.

He praises his club romford, rightly so but does have the odd subtle dig at "other clubs" although i am unsure he is actually having a dig at hornchurch, knowing his previous rants it would not surprise me in the slightest.

Saying that,it is one if his better letters,he states they are a well run club with no debts but this is not hard considering they currently play at ryman one north level and groundshare so they don't really have the same problems other clubs have.

Personally i think he is being slightly naive.Of course every football club would like to be debt free but the nature of the beast dictates that this sometimes cannot be the way. Most clubs have a budget, most clubs rely on some sort of income, the fact that apparantly romford don't pay their players surely means that they rely on any income to pay their hosts (aveley)

A very novel way of running a club but can it get you any further than where they are now,i wouldn't think so but if it did then surely they would have to change their way of thinking.

Personally,i would like to see Mr Fenn be as positive 5 years into the romford project when maybe the team are struggling, gates are down and they have to pay for their stadia, its ok speaking in hindsight when you have nowt to juggle the finances with and to say that "unlike other clubs you don't solely judge success on the pitch" or "any investment would never be frittered away" but perhaps it would be better to put it into practice first.

Lets not forget that no one really wants to watch a sh1t team who loose all the time but are stable off the pitch. If only footy was that simple you could have both.

still, one of your better efforts Mr fenn

Romford clearly have ambitions, hence the plans for the new stadium. I think Biased Bob's post the other day was a good one, it's going to be very difficult to raise the money for the stadium and then control the bills that will result from that ambition. At the moment they have Aveley's infrastructure to support them.

I'd rather be in Hornchurch's position debts and all.
