The referee was awful. Didn't get a grip on proceedings at all and rarely allowed the game to flow.

 

Not sure whether the player got a red. Seemed to consult the lineman and changed his mind. Hunt did well to dispatch the penalty despite the long delay.

I thought the red was given after he consulted with his assistant (might be wrong though) - he then showed a yellow to the keeper.

The ref didn't seem to have control and indeed stopped the flow of the game.

 

His assistant on the Eastside seemed reluctant to make a decision and took the ref's lead most of the time.

Urchins Youth said that he saw a red card issued by the ref, he must have changed his mind and retracted it.

 

As for the game, first half wasn't the best, second half better. I felt that Hornchurch was always the better team and deserved the win, although Aveley did have one or two moments.

Great for the game to be on today, definately cleared a few heads, glad to get Christmas and the new year over with, now we can continue our good run of form.

Thoroughly deserved win today, thought we had the better chances, yet Aveley did look dangerous, but never really had any chances.

Nice to see a good crowd as well.

game never really got going until the second half a gritty urchin performance without the thrills u can be brazil and win 6 nil but the point tally is still the same,3 points,so up the ryman prem we go

never normally mention the referees i't's up to the team to get the results but he had a shocker today,it affected the flow of the game, cant imagine the assessor scoring him high on that performance

fckng brilliant result today.I think that Aveley have done themselves proud this season.

Doing well in the league,knocked dartford out the league cup(only 2nd team to beat them at home,behind us)

I think that we look how well we are doing but you musty take your hat off to a club who get half the attendance we do.

they,in both games fought us till the end and in all honesty could of quite easily of took 4 points fromm both games.

But,as it is we are the ones with 4 points and i think that is the form book speaking out loud,we have the desire to get something out of these games and we are climbing the table.

Looking at our next few games we can be right up there,especially at a ground next week that we always do well on,borehamwood,proper good pitch,we should win that one
