South Park 1 Knaphill 1

Knaphill picked up there first point of the new year with a hard fought 1-1 draw at South Park.

Park took the lead midway through the first half with Ian Savage equalising from the penalty spot on 72 minutes.

Both sides had chances to win it in the late stages with Park hitting the crossbar Knaphill's Tom Davies having his goalbound effort brillantly saved by Park's keeper who also saved well from Matt Edwards who also saw another strike headed off the line.

A good away point considering Knaphill were missing strikers Matt Baker, Ricky Hogsden and Wes Harrison.

The Reserves picked up a valuable point with a 2-2 draw against CB Hounslow Utd Reserves at Redding Way. Vic Flynn and Ross Blythin were the Knaphill goalscorers.

F.A.O: TRS, you were at the game, your opinion of what you saw?

Thanks for your comments on the ground TRS. We have planning permission for a stand that will meet the requirements of the Premier Division. We hope to have this in place soon. Glad you enjoyed the gamewith both teams playing some good football.

Worcester Park scored from a corner in the 45th minute that settled the game. However I must say how proud I was of the Municipal players today, they gave there all for me,in trying to secure a victory. The pitch played well, the clubhouse was superb, but the changing rooms are the worst I have seen in Non League Football,no hooks for clothes, the smallest showers ever seen, and stunk to high heaven.Top of the League maybe, but going nowhere,no ambition. To rectify that they need Lights,Fencing round 3 sides of ground, but unfortunately due to the covenant on the ground, this can never be achieved. So come on Combined Counties rectify this ludicrous situation, and make Clubs up there grounds,to the level required,or we wiil all go hire a park ground.Worcester Park are denying a forward thinking club promotion.Ref was superb but linos substandard, which let him down.Challenge to all Combined Counties Linos,I am 62 yrs of age,I will race any of you over 50 yds for charity, and you will lose.

By contrast, South Park have a very tidy ground and good facilities. Just lacking the seats for Premier football, but plenty of room for one of those stands that a lot of CCL clubs now have. My first visit to South Park and only £3 admission, bargain!

Agreed TRS.

As for Worcester Park, when they've had to play catch up with fixtures they've used Colliers Wood, maybe they have a groundshare in mind?

The league rules are that you cannot groundshare to gain promotion, therefore unless they had an agreement in place before the AGM this season (June) they would be ineligible. As a result providing they remain up there 4th place COULD be good enough for promotion.

chertsey1-0 hanworth villa

(moody)

typical post christmas game, lacked quality on a resonablly good surface, chertsey lacked spark without g bamford in midfield, but dominated 1st half without causing to many problems but took a deserved lead through marcus moody, john pomroy had 2 good chances to double lead before the break but not the best game for a largish crowd, but 3 points for chertsey which is all important at this stage of the season!

HI CB, WENT TO WATCH EITHER CHERTSEY AGAINST HANWORTH VILLA OR BEDFONT AGAINST NGU.

CHOSE CHERTSEY AND WISH I HADN'T, YOUR COMMENTS ABOVE CB ARE SPOT ON AND NOW WISHED I WENT TO BEDFONT

C'EST LA VIE

Nope played second half first game for a month won 4 1 with our keeper giving them there goal in the last minute. It could have been alot more.

Brunty, you would be first name on sheet,if I was manager. But I have faith in Hartley Witney a great bunch of people.Unlike Worcester Park who cannot be gracious in defeat:quote from some of there supporters 'WORST WE PLAYED THIS SEASON'only cos we gave em a game.

Thanks BT - I hadn't been available In december so he was being fair to the boys who came in. Will be back in next week. I think we will be strong inthe second half of the season now we have everyone available.

lammas were 2 down ,

chertsey1 - 0 hanworth

Who scored for Chertsey? Any news on the game?

i was not there , just a text i recieved ,

Mole Valley 2-0 Staines Lammas

MV probably ended Lammas chances of a third consecutive league title, too many lammas players looked like they were still feeling the effects of New Years eve and did not stand up and be counted for. Two smashing goals from MV striker Jay Holden. Big month for Lammas who will probably look for second or third place now as i think MV will go and win the league. January sees lammas play WP, Eversley and HW.

Indeed, just 15 minutes along the A25 and down Flanchford Road to avoid Reigate Town Centre.

Been out in South Africa watching the cricket but dont seem to have missed much football thanks to the weather.

Went to Bedfont v North Greenford saturday and saw NGU luckily take all 3 points. Poor pitch, 2 poor sides and some attrocious officials made for quite an entertaining game. If NGU play like that too often they wont be challenging for long. Suspensions and injuries will harm NGU as their options from the bench were very poor. Bedfont had man sent off late in 1st half and then had the better of the 2nd half.

Burgers were good, developments over fence at Bedfont Sports look impressive, some mumblings from Bedfont people that planning permission wasnt gained for some or all the new facilities but seemed more like jealousy to me.

Hopefully see some more CCL football before heading back to SA for the final test.

A bit premature Animal - you still have to play us (HW) twice yet plus WP, Cobham etc..... and win your games in hand!

Mmm South Park have the Best Chips! £3 admission is kl but im sure during matchdays the local fans take their dogs for well timed walkies to avoid paying the fee.

How many of these new stands are being used though. I have not been to many CCL premier grounds since these were introduced but due to limitations of space, they seem to be put in the wrong place. For example at both Sandhurst and Hartley Wintney, they are both on the far side of the spectator entrance and too far away from the snack/drinks place and therefore nobody bothers to walk round to them.

The old Ryman clubs have it good as the seated areas are on the same side as the entrance and snacks. I have rarely seen the seated area at Krooner Park really empty.

Its a shame that these things are required to level to make grounds look more attractive, but most of them have been 10k, or however much it is to get them, wasted on an unused structure.

I think they are very useful in crappy weather. From memory this season at Ash and at Cove, there were a few people sitting in them and that was in sunny weather. I suppose it also means people that have trouble standing for long periods are now catered for.
