after the referee's inspection - todays game called off at 1130am v Marlow 2nd jan 2010.

Yup had nasty feeling it might be. Surprised they took decision this early as marlow is so close an the sun is beating down.

can't see what the problem is matches have been played in far worse conditions than this, it seems that not only do the officials get poorer but they seem to get woosier every year as well , probably something to do with them being office wallahs and holidaying in the carribean

If it makes you feel any better Heavy Trucker, i had already travelled to Slough before finding out the game was off. Me and Horsham then travelled back and were queuing outside Horshams turnstiles when their game was called off! I need my football fix!

Got my football fix watching Gary McCann's Hendon win 3-1 over Harrow Borough at Vale Farm Park.

Can't help but agree. I've seen top flight professional games played on worse pitches than those that non-league games get called off for these days. Nobody got injured, they just got on with it.
