Only blessing is we get a chance to get some of our 1st choice defence back from injury and suspension for the return game..

 

Certainly a coincidental blessing...

 

We done all we could to get the game played and were very upset that the Ref decided to make such an early call..

 

If the Ref would have delayed his decesion by another hour to 1:15pm as asked the game would have gone ahead. Come 2:30pm our first team and reserve team squad were playing a training match on it, at this point the frozen area had thawed and was in perfect condition..

This back log of games is going to do our play off push (if there is one) no good at all, our players will be knackered by the end of the season! Major concerns now over this. My recollections of previous seasons where teams have had lots of games in hand is that they never benefit.

To be honest, I think we need to be a little realistic before we go mentioning play offs. It's all very comendable to think there are those of us that think we can do it when you do the maths but the reality of the situation is where we are now...second from the bottom of the league with a heap loads of games in hand.

 

This may be poring cold water on the enthusiasm being shown since our last three league wins but little steps lad...first step is to get us out of the bottom four...which is more than do-able in my opinion...we then take stock and see what is possible after that.

Have to say I really was surprised the game was called off as the temps Sat afternoon were a heady 5'c....Big worry is that with impending weather reports of minus whatever over the coming week we may see another obliteration this weekend...It is a shame as i think the team potentially had a great chance of winning at Canvey. Just 16 league games played now ! When was it last like this ? ! ? we have still got 26 league games to go starting from weekend of 9th Jan ! - Can we have some byes passing go and collecting 3 points along the way
