Pitch Inspection @ 11:30am

ShedBoy

Recommended Posts

The referee has inspected the pitch at Canvey and there is one area of the pitch that he is concerned about. There will therefore be a further pitch inspection at 12:30 to confirm whether or not the game can be played today. We will bring you the news as soon as we hear it.

Too early? Another 90 mins sunshine could make all the difference.

The match is off unfortunately due to part of the pitch being frozen :-(

JL - The Canvey Forum is now at www.clubyellow.co.uk

Happy New Year

Only a small area was frozen due it it being in total shade, Ref seemed happy to call it off at 1215pm.. I wonder if he had waited another hour or so the temp may have crept up enough to thaw the section out..

Only blessing is we get a chance to get some of our 1st choice defence back from injury and suspension for the return game.. :)

A bit off topic - but do Canvey have a forum these days does anyone know? The fans focus one seems errr vacant.

Funny that they keep a closed forum on their own site rather than a public one like the most of this league. I wonder why that is?

The 'inner circle' at Canvey like to have full control.

It's like the virtual version of going back to the Jeff King days and the nightclub bouncers as match stewards.

Would it not be an idea to cover the part of the pitch that is known to take the longest to thaw out? (or maybe they had done that just with the wrong Tog)

Looks like they will get back to full strength thanks to this being postponed (But I'm sure that was not the plan)

After checking todays results and the table if we can win all our games in hand (a big ask) we would be in and around the play off's although it looks like it's gonna be a 2 games a week for the rest of the season even 3 if the weather don't ease up or the boys go on a cup run.

Good luck!!!

Covering the pitch in the effected area would seem sensible...

Lost their last 3 games...shipping goals...first choice defence suffering from suspensions and old age. I wasnt suprised to hear they didnt really make an effort to get the played.

Nether mind. We'll be above them in the league by the time the game is eventually played :)

Agree with Paul J. I'm sure this game could have been played with a bit of effort. Never mind, have to start finding spare Thursdays soon!!

Popped along to Hornchurch and watched Jo Flack win the game for the Urchins instead Kick_Can_emoticon.gif

Tuesday looks a long shot.
