If we're talking Mars Volta here they are two members of the group At he Drive-In and to album, well has a bit of everything really, quite a required taste is the bet way to put it, best I can say is to have a liste before you buy. It's a love it or hate it album, I personally love it.

Or you could wait a few week and get The Coral - Magic and Medicine, saw them at Glasto and their new material sounds quality. Pass it on is a brilliant song, can't get enough of it.

I think they're australian and i think the drummer is getting married to Natalie Imbrughlia or however the hell you spell it. They're blokes(methinks),young ish..mid 20's?Rock music,bit grungey...
For the record i'd say that all of what i've just said is a guess..i'm not sure if i'm right!

I've seen the coral few times but at Glasto they were somthing else, without doubt my and of the weekend. I'll definitly be seeing them a V, if they play half as good as they did at Glastonbury they'll be amazing.

Zeal - did we tell you we bumped into Zimmerman at Glasto? I bumped into 4 different people I knew at Glastonbury, weird eh?

We were right at the front which does add to it. We left early though half way through 'Goodbye' as we wanted to get near the front for radiohead.

Another band to watch out for are:

 

The Star Spangles- They've got a great single called 'I live for speed', not sure if they have an album out though. Also, Mikey Streets has got a new alter-ego called 'Graffiti', apparently the music is ace but I haven't heard much of it to be honest.

 

As for the Darkness V Kings Of Leon, I'd say The Darkness, although I myself will be buying both on friday, along with Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell and Cat Stevens CDs. Quite an eclectic selection I think!

I think I'm going to miss out on The Star Spangles, when I went to see them I was expecting loads, especially after that single but they were a bit of a let down.

This thread freaked me out today. I had XFM on at work, Zeal mentions The Darkness, on comes 'growing on me', someone mentions The Kings of Leon, on comes 'Red morning light' The Coral, (and particularly 'dreaming of you') is mentioned, and Zoe Ball played...you've guessed it 'dreaming of you'. Then to top it all off Zimmerman mentions the Mars Volta, and they have a competition to win Mars Volta tickets! It all happened just after I had read the bit about the band in question.

The Darkness, The Coral and Kings of Leon, seem to be the staple diet of Xfm, nowadays. Everytime I turn Xfm on, they're on.But that's a good thing.
