Following reports in the local media concerning the disappearance of Adam Passfield, who failed to return home following a night out in Chelmsford on Friday evening, the club would like to offer its thoughts and prayers to his friends and family at this worrying time.

Investigating Officer, Det Insp Stuart Truss, said: "This is totally uncharacteristic of Adam. He has never gone missing before and his disappearance is causing us a lot of concern. It is just as worrying for his family who are distraught. As we are experiencing cold, wintry conditions we are anxious about his health. He said Adam was in Chicago's nightclub for a long time and urged anyone who saw or spoke to him after 3am early Saturday morning to get in touch immediately.

If anybody has any information regarding the whereabouts of Adam Passfield please contact Chelmsford police on 0300 333 4444.

The above was posted 20/12, more than ten days ago. Our thoughts are with all the Passfield family at this time.

I have been following this matter since Christmas.

I really do hope it is resolved soon so that his family can have some answers.

from reading today's posts after the police search of the river, it sounds like they may have found a body, but not confirmed who it is. (from the tone of the posts)

The thoughts of Heybridge Swifts FC are very much with the family and friends of Adam Passfield at this moment in time.

The Club will be issuing a statement once formal identification has taken place.

We would ask that all members of the press refrain from contacting the club for further comment, and await our Press Release.

The latest from the club.
