Okay - solved that on all resolutions.

 

The text box was too large - I had it set to 70 columns - it is now set as default to 50 columns. These default figures were bing used for the quick reply box. Hence the problem.

 

If yours has not altered to 50 columns, then you can adjust the text box size via your display preferences in 'My Home'.

 

If you are have more screen space then you can increase it to 60 to fill up more of the screen, and give you a bigger area to type in.
