Only two matches survived the pre-Christmas freeze but Burnham Ramblers failed to take advantadge as they were upset 2-1 at home by Hullbridge Sports.Chris Brown gave Hullbridge the lead after just 13 minutes and,ten minutes later Joshua Jarvis made it 2-0.Burnham tried desperately hard to get back into the game and they were rewarded in the penultimate minute of normal time when Lewis Wilkin scored . That set up a grandstand finish but Hullbridge were able to hang on for all three points!!!!!

Hang on????? :spam: A great save one on one from their on loan keeper on Chris Brown,a desperate last ditch clearance off the line from their defender after Pato have lobbed the keeper, another lob from Paterson, with the gk in no man's land hitting the cross-bar and you call it a grandstand finish??? :coffee (2): This without mentioning the first half onslaught with Bridge players squandering chances after chances for a scoreline that should have read 0-5 after 45 minutes...... :smashfreakb:

I wonder if these guys do ever attend games or make it up after a few pints? Sure a more honest report saying that Hullbridge totally deserved to win and by a bigger margin, would have been the best thing to do.... :zornig:

I am curious Coachie, have you ever won a game that your team should of lost ? Come on there must of been one or have your team deserved to win every single game this season by a cricket score. Congratulations on a very good win....

We beat a team loaded with dollars 3-2 and they made it look like if it was an injustice....they even moaned when they snatched a point at home with their last kick of the game... .You can moan over one game but over 2.....average points per games played v "that team" 2.00.I wish we can play them every week....

They never have and never will bother regularly going to ESL level games. So they read the score, look at the histories and league position and make it up as they go. It's the case now and always.

Don't let it bother you, a win's a win. And arguably the best result this season.

Coachie, this is how it works to save you from any further 'foot in mouth' experiences later in the season. The NLP, or NLT as was, never send individual reporters to a Step 5 game.

The person credited with the round-up from each league at that level, will phone up a League official around 5.30pm - usually Mr Errington in the case of the ESL - and will be furnished with the results, scorers and attendances from matches played on the day.

Lord E is at the behest of club home officials and as he doesn't possess Harry Potter's powers and therefore cannot apparate from game to game, mistakes do occur, as posts on this site can verify.

Just because your village/park side causes a minor stir, by winning at a club that will invariably come down with the Christmas lights, giving you a faint chance of finishing in the top half of the table for the first time since Michael Owen was allowed to vote, this doesn't warrant a plethora of hacks to descend on the Essex steppes to record said facts.

Still, a great result for Hullbridge and messrs Ray and Portway must be just what the doctor ordered...

Coupy flippling hell!It seems you had a good supply of Giordano wines over Christmas

Oh well where we start from? Burnham Ramblers lights won't come down at Christmas and actually i'll go as far as to say they will swoop places with those rheumatoids friends of yours, comes May :snack: .NL paper or whoever writes down (makes it up)those reports should make sure they get their facts right otherwise simply write down goalscorers, attendances and end of.If you free lance reporters need any help don't hesitate to call me.You know us eyetalians are not only good at managing England or top premiership clubs,we are multi-task  Going back to my adored little Hullbridge i'm pleased you appreciate someone that gives a chance to future non league managers and helps a good friend of his in restoring his reputation as a good knowleadgeble manager-coach.Now i had a bloody tough walk this morning in the rain :rain: and i need some well earned "pennichella" ;)

What bit of "The person credited with the round-up from each league at that level, will phone up a League official around 5.30pm - usually Mr Errington in the case of the ESL - and will be furnished with the results, scorers and attendances from matches played on the day." didn't you understand?
