I thought I had finally lost it this morning
the biggest loss for me is the link to other clubs forums at the top of the screen

They are all still there under 'Forums' smile.gif Plus the links to the left will show all the clubs in the Ryman for example.

Ian - a quick point, I think some of our regular users (one in particular being Mr Zeal) are experiencing technical difficulties When I first went to the board this morning, through my favourites, it told me the board was experiencing technical difficulties. Zeal has just emailed me telling the same thing. I shall reply give him the new? URL. But is there anything you can do about this so other users don't get the same problem?

What URL did he have?

The only URL's we have recommended linking to were http://www.nonleague.com/sacfc in your case - this will redirect - hopefully these are the only type of links on the various websites.

The new quick URL is in fact http://forums.nonleague.com/sacfc - if a club has a chat room - then this is say http://chat.nonleague.com/canvey - the mailing lists are say http://mailman.nonleague.com/stfc - in otherwords it follows the style of feature . nonleague.com / club - the benefits for me is that I can move sections to different servers if required - and see as to which sections are using what bandwidth.

I am guessing that he was trying to link to http://www.nonleague.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?Cat=1,3 etc. Although I have redirected the majority, I do not think I can redirect these types of links frown.gif If I can I will.

Okay - booked marked addresses, I think should work - can you try them please.

I think you will end up as http://forums.nonleague.com showing - which is the new home page, so SACFC links will not directly appear - but then if your club is set to SACFC then you will get the link at the top to both SACFC and the Ryman.

Neither can I, Fleet Boy. I just keep getting a grey screen come up!

Zeal was right about changing the layout to Frosted Blue, it's much better.

Okay - fixed the general one.

They are java - so the obvious question is do you have java installed for your browser? You will also need to accept the certificate when a window pops-up.

Also try these direct URL's

http://chat.nonleague.com
http://chat.nonleague.com/canvey
http://chat.nonleague.com/slough

It is a much smaller font - I will create a style of the same size font - also bear in mind that frosted blue has been the font for a while, so it is also a case of what you are used to.

There are over 40 to choose from, so I leave it entirely up to you, how to view it. smile.gif

How come I cannot connect?

There are several possibilities.

You are using a very old version of IE or Netscape. Only IE4 or above and Netscape 4.08 or above is supported by jIRC applet.

When the popup window first appears and asks for granting permission, the user denies the request. Without such permission, the applet will not be able to connect to any IRC servers around the world. It can only connect to the host the applet was downloaded from.

Some IRC servers deny connection from some ISP domains( due to abuse or flooding coming from that domain). For example, some IRC servers do not allow AOL users to connect. And some IRC servers require you to have Identd installed and running on your computer (Identd is included in jIRC, and it is turn on by default). There are thousands of public IRC servers available, you can always find one that is friendly to your environment.

IE browser allow users to modify its Internet Security Setting, if you are not using the default security setting and disable the support of signed applet,jIRC may not work properly. If this is the case, revert the IE security to default medium level.
