Billericay Town v Canvey Island result

What a superb result. The ref was even more inept than they usually are and the Canvey team put in some pretty awful tackling. What impressed me more than anything was our terrific discipline, refusing to get involved - well done to Ian Cousins for playing a real captains role here.

Billy will get the headlines for a great hatrick but the whole team played superbly today. Bit of a shame that others around us in the league raised their games as well but a couple more performances like this will see us out of the relegation zone.

A fair play game in action by us today i thought. As much as the scum tried to play dirty our lads were able to rise above it even with the distraction of a blinkered ref.

Well done to both Barry and Brian for doing a great job in jelling this squad over the last few weeks. it seems so far to have been a job well done.

Well done to Billy & Matt but hat's off to PONDINIO for me.

Tuesday hmmmm bring it on

The best performance of the season imo. The midfield ran the game and kept composed in the face of some rough treatment and dubious decision making from the ref.

The passing and movement off the ball was excellent, Billy took his goals well and it could have been more than four; the keeper making a couple ofdecent saves.

A few more performances like that should lift us out of the mire.

When of the best games I have seen at the Lodge if only because we thrashed one of our closest neighbours. I thought the whole team was great with Cousins, Wild and Pond the stars. If only we had more depth upfront this team would be pushing for promotion, but lets enjoy the moments as they come as we had a tough start to the season. Great atmosphere, if the fans can do that every game it must boost the players as Brian said in his piece. Its my youngest daughters birthday on Saturday as otherwise I would be eagerly going to Canvey for some more wind ups! Awesome day.

Possibly the performance of the season so far. We out played 'em, was more disiplined than them, played better football than them and was better in front of goal than them...As for having more options up front...well...I know he hasn't had the best of seasons but Billy was awesome with his finishing. Yes, we do require more options up front but on the day, we had enough fire power to put four past 'em.

A great afternoon and well done to everyone.

Quite amusing that the Canvey support sarted leaving after the fourth went in... Say's enough for their club, me thinks.

We could not be there for this match and are devastated that it was the best game ever (jealous) but happy that my boys did well!

Looking forward to continued good form in the New Year and hope that the additional support will continue. For us season ticket holder/frequent supporters it's great to see new faces and hope to see a lot more in 2010. It only helps the team and ensures some great effort from the boys.

A comprehensive win for us and as Bill said we outplayed them in every department. I won't start crowing too much as we need to avoid three-point tennis in a week's time - but hopefully we can repeat the dose.

Delighted that Billy found his scoring boots - hopefully he will use today as a springboard into the new year. I thought Pond was excellent today and maybe picking up a couple of late knocks has spared Brian some selection conundrums for Tuesday.

Hopefully we can continue this form and clamber out of the drop zone.

Come on you Blues!!

What a great day, good game, good atmosphere and spanking our local rivals. Cant ask for much more.

Took us a while to get going, but it was an excellent performance all round, Bricknell and Pond in particular standing out for me. After all the times ive seen us draw a blank this year it was oh so satisfying to see us stick a few away, although it has to be said the Canvey defence were awful at times. Take nothing away from us though, some very well taken goals. Confidence must be high now so lets hope for more of the same in what will be two tough away games this week.

Confidence seems to be returning and that showed with a really pleasing TEAM effort. We owed our neighbours after the embarrasments of last season and we can only hope that it can be replicated again on Saturday. Well done to all - On that performance we are (hopefully) getting back to those good old home days at New Lodge from times gone by.

Special mention for the management...they are becoming more vocal and i really think that helps...keep it up lads !

And as for the team...the commitment is there, and in time (fingers crossed) they will get their reward and get out of this bottom 4 and then we can see where we go from there...

Good effort by ALL !
