Updates on here today hopefully.

 

Unfortunately the 'other' forum, which used to be really good, is now too slow. Not because of content, but the server seems to have slowed right down. In fact the other day when I tried it a big red notice came up, courtesy of Google, advising me not to continue due to 'malware', which sounded a bit dodgy to me. I used their analysis tool, which came up with loads of scary stuff about trojans, worms, and so on. Tried it today, no warning, but even slower, so better safe than sorry, eh?

 

For anybody not on broadband who wants to speed this forum up, I found out today that in the bottom left hand corner of the screen is a drop down box which doesn't say what it is, but had the words 'blue professional' in it. When you open it you will see that it is display themes for the board. One of the options is 'mobile theme', which looks a bit strange until you get used to it, but is fast as lightning. Hope that is of assistance for anyone who didn't know about it and finds this forum slow.

 

Anyhow, on with the game. Pitch inspection ok, I understand, but there's a lot of rain on the way. I still haven't forgotten how bleak that place can be, especially when your team loses 6-0 (?) on a horrible winter's evening, the only consolation being a top goal by Freddy Eastwood (now at Coventry). A proper Essex lad: have a look at his Wikipedia entry and see what his kids are called...

 

Prediction: 4-3 to us.

Heart says-just when you least expect it -and despite our complete inability to defend- ( are Read-short term- and Groombridge really the answer ? ) up pops a 0-0 draw.

 

Unfortunately head says 4-1 maidstone.

 

Up the 'Gate

 

 

(you're right Chris-it was'nt just me then who was finding this forum slow then-even on broadband.

Similarly switched to this 'mobile box' and it is so much quicker-not as pretty-but alot quicker.)

Oh dear, just noticed something: Maidstone have got Hockton, Pinnock and Saunders, our former potent strike force and strong midfielder.

 

Hmm... new prediction: 5-4 to us, because I reckon Stones will get at least 4.

 

OK I'll say it .... Hockton yet to get off the mark for Maidstone. Pinns is pretty much neck and neck with Lloyd and he's been the main striker for Maidstone. I wonder how he feels about reverting to supplier for Hockton? OK, wishful thinking. Difficult to believe there won't be goals. Their form is marginally worse than ours and they have had a load of games postponed too. Too close to call this one I'd say. Would be over the moon with a 1-0 to us, but I'm going for 2-2.

Head says 3-1 loss unfortunately (Hockton guaranteed to get on the score sheet). But like everyone else am nevertheless hoping for a positive result of course.

Oh for a clean sheet & a Steve McKimm type winner in the last minute.

every single week i avoid all footy scores except ours of course so i get the full enjoyment from match of the day and the football league show this eve lol cheers cookie lol merry xmas lol c'mon gate
