Scandalous.

If Hitchin can organise a work party to get a game on when their ground and pitch looked like this in midweek - http://www.kodakgallery.co.uk/ViewSlideshow.action?&localeid=en_GB&collidparam=1035522020233.6937148221233.1261503115860 - then SYCOB could have pulled their finger out to get the game on today.

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest that they didn't though.

Beaconsfield do not have the resources to call on that clubs like Hitchin do though to arrange such things sadly. Given the temperatures expected for today and the potential revenue to be made for the club, I am surprised though that a decision has been made this early.

So, a little bit of Snow at one end which could have been cleared and some salt/grit in the car park area and the game would have been on.

They obviously don't need the money or just couldn't be bothered to make the efffort.

I would say the crowd today would have been much bigger today than on a Tuesday and some much needed funds.

As I said before, such a well run club they deserve everything they get.

I realise they don't have the resources but as mentioned, how often do Slough fans help them out with their problems? If only they had asked. I can't imagine the same thing happening if it was our "home" game.

As you say Gary, their loss. Even more frustrating when you see locally both Windsor & Maidenhead games are on.

Still disappointed, but looking at it slightly differently, could this be a blessing in disguise? Beaconsfield have just had a change of manager and the upturn in results that often goes with it.

I'm assuming then that this will be rearranged for the spring, or could both clubs agree to play it next week, weather permitting?

I've been told by the Lillywhites who were up at the ground earlier today, to take the kit, that the car park and the lane were totally iced up with at least 2-4" of ice.

This would mean that there would not have been anywhere to park and it would have been dangerous for supporters walking across it as well.

With my road looking the same last weekend, I can see why they have called it off.

Pity though.

I think it's important we worry more about focusing on a play-off position than winning the league at this stageof the season, so I think that result is a decent one for us as Arlesey are a threat to that.

Out of interest where on the internet are you getting the bury score from?

salt and grit are readily available, the only addittions to this is a determination to see the game go ahead, these today seem to be sadly lacking at beaconsfield perhaps a consequence of their league position, my road was under similar conditions this last week is also a side road but is now clear, so as far as i'm concerned there are no excuses, i bet it hasn't stopped them from using the club house!
