Brittany Murphy - RIP

Does anybody have any theories as to why beautiful actress Brittany Murphy's life was cut short yesterday morning at the age of 32. I gather she was found unconscious in the shower of the home she shares in Los Angeles with her British screenwriter husband Simon Monjack and was taken to hospital but was sadly unresponsive on arrival and pronounced dead.

Brittany Murphy's obituary was in the Times today and reading it brought tears to my eyes. Few will realise, LATO included, that despite the fact she was only 32 Brittany had appeared in more than 60 films and tv shows, born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1977, her parents unsurprisingly split up when she was a baby and she lived with her Mother in New Jersey appearing in local theatre productions from a tender age. An ambitious and talented Brittany persuaded her Mother to move to California in her early teens and the rest is pretty much history, the cause of her untimely death is yet to be confirmed.

Keeps - Brittany Murphy was a 'Type 2' diabetic and suffered from a thyroid condition but I doubt this had any connection to her death. Like I said I think her husband may well know more than he has let on so far, he was at their home in West Hollywood Hills as firemen tried to save her but apparently appeared dazed and didn't lift a finger

LATO - Thanks for coming on, we could have been chatting over a Christmas drink now couldn't we. Actually I have taken a keen interest in Brittany Murphy's career ever since the 2002 film 8 Mile which I have to say I'm surprised you have never seen.

Further to my post above, four or five days ago, I'm tempted to say that 'I rest my case' but don't want to come across as big headed, in yesterday's Daily Mail there is an article entitled 'Has Mr Brittany Got Something To Hide' and it makes very disturbing reading indeed. Mr Simon Monjack, born in North London, presumably Stamford Hill or Golders Green, to Jewish parents, told the Mail in an interview that he and Brittany were planning to start a family. Under different circumstances, said the Mail, it would have been impossible not to take his words at face value as those of a grief stricken husband who had lost the love of his life, however how many 'grief stricken husbands' return phone calls from the press fifteen minutes after being contacted by the Mail or agree to be interviewed on American tv only a matter of hours after Miss Murphy was pronounced dead or indeed give a major interview to a US magazine. Something is clearly not right.

Here's a turn up for the books folks of Buster Douglas and Norton's Coin proportions, Brittany Murphy's husband Simon Monjack has been found dead at the Hollywood home the couple shared and where Brittany died only five months ago, quite incredible!
