Heybridge Swifts Player Goes Missing

SPECIALIST police teams and marine units are searching parts of Essex for Heybridge Swifts player Adam Passfield, who has been missing since early Saturday morning.

 

Twenty-two-year-old Passfield, from Sharpington close in Galleywood, was last seen in Chelmsford town centre.

 

Police and family have been unable to reach him on his mobile phone, BBC News is reporting.

 

Adam is a player with Ryman One North side Heybridge Swifts and has been playing in the reserves this season to regain fitness after sustaining a serious injury in pre-season.

 

Officers are examining CCTV in a bid to piece together his last known movements and the marine unit is travelling a stretch of the River Chelmer.

 

DI Stuart Truss says: ‘‘He has never gone missing before and his disappearance is causing us alot of concern.”

 

“We would urge anyone who knows of Adam’s whereabouts to get in touch with us immediately.

 

“As we are experiencing cold, wintry conditions we are anxious about his health.”

 

Passfield is described as white, 6ft, slim, with short straight brown hair and was wearing jeans, trainers and a red-chequered shirt with a black leather jacket.

 

He was in Chicago’s nightclub before he went missing.

 

All players, staff and fans at the Scraley Road club have him in their thoughts and prayers and are hoping he is found safe and well.
