as christmas is just around the corner an the weather sets in, games in the essex senior league will start getting called off and people an teams will start letting there hair down and relax. do you think this could affect any teams in the new year. as i am a huge burnham fan an i sponsored a few players this year i got invited to there christmas party at aroma then liquid in basildon. this gave me a chance to see some of the players attitudes when not around or involed in the football. the players acted very professional an had a few beers then hit the water after as they have a big game tuesday at basildon. but on the other hand the managment realy did let there hair down. by 11 they was so drunk it got embarresing :champis2::drinkies:, one part of the staff had a bag an was filling it with chinesse to take home with him after, they even started arguing :argue: with the dj who is the basildon manager because he offered the lads some free drinks an was "tapping" them up apparently. but it was a very good night to be fair to the lads.

has any other team had a party or something an what would you do? :peace:

Sorry mate my tale is not of Christmas but after the season had finsihed. And the only one who embarrased themselves was me, i was invited down to join the players, it would of been 2007/8 season we had just finished 16th our highest ever position at step.4. (i resigned as Secretary that week, my last day)

I felt ok, drinking locally and when we went to the first pub in another town, but as soon as we met up with a rival team at a club and they all drank together, i chucked up everywhere and got thrown out by two fat bouncers onto the pavement and they would not let me back in. All our players and management were well behaved. :winkewinke:

i am just an essex senior league fan and watch different teams weekly, i was out and saw a few of the burnham lads on their xmas party, i felt that they were very professional and only had a few beers, teams will do very well to match them throughout the entire season and to top their performances so far this season !

This is an interesting read Mr Acer. I find it very strange that you would socialize with the Burnham lads, i assume they all fall in the 18-25 age bracket. Also as a matter of interest what players have you sponsored?

And you say that the Basildon manager was 'tapping up' a few of Burnhams players. Would you care to elaborate which ones? Is this kind of behaviour allowed at this level of football.
