Hatfield boss delighted as ten men draw

Recommended Posts

Chairman Ted Collie adds: “I was very proud of the way the lads fought back, and with luck could have snatched a victory.

“Had I not been at the game and looked at the match statistics, I would have asked Trevor [Lloyd] what was going on with all the bookings.

“But I was there, and I am at a loss as to how the bookings were justified. It was not a dirty game at all.”

Is it possible that Hatfield Town are being "victimised" as a result of some of the negative publicity that they have attracted. It cannot help their cause when people who have no personal knowledge of the way in which the Club and its members conduct themselves continually snipe at their behaviour and make snide comments about "unhealthy drinking cultures". It certainly appears from this newspaper article that Hatfield Chairman Ted Collie shares my fears. This is a terrible shame because Ted is one of foootballs good guys and his dedication to Hatfields cause through thick and thin should be applauded. There is much talk on this Forum about "Proper" football people. In my experience there are many of these associated with Hatfield Town and I hope one day all their hard work will be rewarded with them finding a home of their own. A base from which they can build on the excellent work already done.

I have no connection to Hatfield Town other than as an interested observer.

Im sure Ted would be grateful for your kind words , and yes , there are many people involved in the club that work tirelessly for the cause . Allies are hard to come by , and if it isn't our drinking culture that is questioned then it is the fact that we ground share that becomes a problem for some people who use this forum . .... Anyway im off to the pub now , fancy a pint Golder ?

It is diffucult to have much sympathy for hatfield town, i am sure that the chairmen and others work hard to keep hatfield going in diffucult circumstances, but if you have watched or played against them you will know that they have plenty of good players and can be a match for most sides on their day ,but they have a shocking disciplinary record and the example set by the manager is poor, i think that have had at least 12 red cards this season including the manager and police have been called to at least one game, their support though loud and many is part of the problem, they have developed a no one likes us we dont care mentality, they have given themselves the reputation their behaviour on and off pitch deserves.

You aint far wrong Patrick ! ...... but if you needed a bed for the night , a shoulder to cry on or 20 quid for a cab home then you'd be in the right company .
