Boxing Day

With Windsor having an early kick off i'm thinking of doing a double header with Beaconsfield in the afternoon. A few questions, Will there be food available ? or will i have to go to the service station opposite, also will the tv be monochrome or colour ? Your help appreciated.

Windsorian: there is food inside the club house bar but its only basic chips with a cup of tea. If you want more than that, the service station is your best bet

I would imagine it will be the normal offering of Burgers with the normal fillings of bacon, cheese, onions etc and chips.

In my opinion SYCOB need to spend less on TV's in their club house and more importantly roll the pitch with a heavy roller. It's in desperate need of it if you ask me and would sort the pitch out.

Judging by the state of the pitch in pre-season I doubt it's at the top of their priorities.

Why don't we club together and get it rolled? Is that possible? I'm not a groundsman!!

I don't think we should have to. Don't get me wrong, were all very greatful to Beaconsfield for the groundshare and the people there are great but in my opinion it works two ways.

They are getting money from us renting the pitch and ground on matchdays, and in some instances probably get four times the income they would get on a normal SYCOB match day for the bar and teabar at our games.

I personally think the way we like to play has not been helped at all by the pitch in the last 2 games and has had a influence on the result.

Having said that, it's just my opinion, I just think it could well come back to bite us in the backside at the end of the season and suprised we have not made more of a fuss about it. I'm no groundsman, but to me it just needs a good roll on a regular basis to flatten it outl!

IMO the pitch surface has been extremely bumpy from the start of the season. You only have to watch the ball when a player tries to run with it, there is hardly an even roll on the whole of the pitch.

Was told by a certain someone (no names no pack drill) that all we needed was some rain and we could roll the pitch but unfortunately the groundsmen that Beaconsfield have got are cheap i.e. free but are too old to push and pull a roller.

I doubt they would even take up the offer if we did have the fund to get the pitch rolled. Pre-season they turned down opportunities from Slough fans to cut the pitch and it was down to more Slough fans to water it and look what a state Beaconsfield made of the pitch, especially in the goal mouths!

I totally agree with Chris, we pay rent and have contributed in more ways than one to help them out not only financially but with the general up keep of the ground. The least they could do is look after the pitch to an adequate standard.

I have it on good authority that the pitch had been reported to the league at the start of the season because of it's poor condition.

It's hardly a susprise that the pitch is poor with a number of sides playing on it. It was awful before you went there! At least at Windsor we spent money on the pitch and are now seeing rewards of doing so. Not sure what exactly SYCOB have spent your money on but they'd be wise to spent the rest of it on something of long term benefit for their club. After all its due to the money we've invested in the pitch we now have Bedfont Green at Stag Meadow and who knows who else will be sharing in the future!
