Cheers! I love the way Scotty the stag has his arm around the slightly concerned looking lino!

I think Dawson and everyone did a great job bringing people down for the game.. also a massive thanks to everyone who worked towards in the Christmas do! I had a top night and a painful head to show for it the next day... not to mention some slightly squiffy pictures!

Cant really have a go at the crowd when it was the same as Sloughs WR! :smashfreakb:

So how many did Romulus bring then Woody out of the total?

Just out of interest, how would he know that?

How about you tell us how many Bracknell brought.

WR, are you more interested in crowd size than performance on the pitch? We have an adequate support for our level, bigger than some, smaller than others, just like Slough. To keep mentioning it is just irritating so why not post something positive or witty, but without a nasty undertone.

Yes slough has a larger regular support than Windsor, there, all done move on!

We mentioned our support as it has been growing this year, two crowds in a row over 200 is good for us and we are proud of that, and rightly so considering where we have come from in the last 5-10 years. On and off the pitch things are happening that are going to positively affect the club, and not pie in the sky massive things but small actual things like kids going for free, a new mascot to get kids involved, a club chaplain, the Windsor lottery and being top of the league and getting great local coverage on the radio and in the community.

So, WR, feel free to join in our banter and have your rwo penneth worth, but please don't deliberately aggrevate WEFC supporters and officials, that is what the Slough forum is for. Write what you like on there, it is yours, but this is for us to enjoy our ups and commiserate our lows.

And to all Windsor fans, keep up the good work and lets hope we have a promotion party to celebrate come the end of the season, and to discuss on here!!!

UTR!!

Does the same logic about aggrevating people apply to Woody ? Or not as he supports Windsor and is therefore right in all he says?

In what way, it is our forum and we use it to talk about Windsor. If we are talking about our crowd size etc etc that is down to us, what we don't need is some idiot coming on and saying how his team have a bigger crowd, fans are better blah blah blah and how we only take ten away from home. We are always going to big up Windsor on here and occassionally mock Slough (as our biggest rivals of many a year), it is OUR message board. But we are rarely malicious without provocation.

Personally I feel the banter is generally good on here but you seem to take it beyond funny deliberately, if that is what you intend then good for you, but if not then maybe more considered comments should be the order of the day.

I don't think anyone is right in all they say and everyone posts things occassionally that may be a little OTT at times but not consistently and on the same subject.

so basically play nicely with the other children or play elsewhere, in the nicest possible way :-)

Actually Fuzzy I thought you knew a little about local football, maybe i was wrong. You might consider us as your biggest rivals, but we dont consider you as ours. Historically, our biggest

rivals have been Wycombe, and prior to that Dagenham and Enfield. Anyone who knows a little about local non-league

football would endorse this. Windsor, Burnham and similar sides were never considered as serious rivals. Dont take my word for it, ask one of your older supporters.

You say that WR but given the over the top level of abuse we received from the Slough faithful as we left the ground last year, the result seemed to mean a great deal. Maybe you guys always react like that when you win.

Again you seem to be living in the past, maybe you don't consider us as your biggest rivals but in the same token the likes of Wycombe; Dagenham et al probably don't even know you still exist.

Anyway if Wycombe are such big rivals of yours why don't you spend all day on their forum trying to antagonise them??? I'm sure they could do with a good laugh!

Mrs Cat, of course i am talking of rivalry in the past. The sad fact is that due to well documented circumstances we have sunk to the level we are now, the same same level as you,

whereas Wycombe Dagenham etc are way above us. My point is that Windsor dont suddenly become our big rivals just because we have ended up at this level. Your main

rivals should be Bracknell, i would of thought

WR you are either talking from the early 80s or just so far out of date it is untrue. We have been your biggest rivals for many a year since Wycombe left for the football league and you left the Conference. We played some big matches in the 80's and having had to go to school in slough during that period remember the rivalry very well.

I believe the entry in football clubs of England (professional) Wycombe are asked who their biggest rival is and they mention amongst others Colchester. A side note says, as for Slough, it is not that we hate them, more that we pity them.....

We are now your biggest rivals and the amount of people who turn out for a competitive derby above and beyond normal fans shows that to be true. You have to live in the now not in the long distant past when you were in top echelons of amateur football, remember going to Wembley, just like yesterday was it, well it was alojng time ago and a long way away from where you are now. Don't get me wrong i would have loved for Windsor to have gone to Wembley or been top of teh conference, but more concerned about this season now.

If you want to get onto lack of knowledgeof football please continue as you are starting to show yourself to be out of touch with local or non league football if you think Wycombe or Dagenham are now your serious rivals.

Oh so all clubs can change their rivals at will, depending on what league they are in, is that what you are saying? And it was Slough and Wycombe in the Conference in the 90s, not the 80s,

again your lack of knowledge shines through.

But isn't it more sensible for 'rivals' to actually be in the same league, or at least the same level - AND especially in non-league actually local?

As you say, Wycombe no longer regard you as true rivals. Well, they wouldn't, they're leagues above. So although you might not like it, you're no longer rivalling them for anything, except possibly memories. The same for Enfield or Dagenham, plus they aren't even local. You can't be a rival to someone else if there's no competition between you.

Sure, don't change every year depending on the league, but realistically once a team is two steps away and 3-4 years away from regular contact they can't be regarded as 'rivals', except historically. So now your rivals should indeed be Burnham, Beaconsfield and Marlow: they're the local towns against which you are competing directly for promotion. Meanwhile Windsor, like it or not, are geographically closer than any (save arguably Burnham), also at the same level, were in the same league until a sideways switch: and I'd hope we'll be meeting in the league again next year... Not forgetting that we're all also rivals in the Berks & Bucks.

And of course there's the whole postcode issue.

Look at it from the point of view of the players... who do they regard as rivals, if not the teams they play against fairly regularly, and ideally those they actually meet twice a year in the league? Surely not teams who may have been opponents 15 years ago but are now 3-4 leagues up (or down!).

I'd agree with you about Bracknell, BTW... I've never been sure why they aren't regarded more as rivals by Windsor. Maybe because we often seem to play so awfully when we go there, that no one actually likes to contemplate the games ;)

That's right you had rivalries with Windsor in the 80's, how foolish of me. That would be before the 90's wouldn't it? And yes, your local rivals and biggest rivals can change if your circumstances change. who would have been Wimbledon's biggest rival, Palace maybe? Would Palace consider AFC Wimbledon their biggest rivals now, probably not.

this is going nowhere so i shall bid you adieu, until the next time, and I am sure there will be a next time........
