the point I was making Urchino is that whenever you read about a malpractice case or a sexual harrasment case involving patients its always a bloody immigrant Doctor...

Do you have any statistics to back up this offensive nonsense?

I've spent over 6 months of my life in hospitals and i've spoken to a lot of foreign doctors and nurses who can't understand why a lot of British people don't like them, and treat them harshly. Without them the NHS would be in a much worse state than it is now.

why is it offensive...because you don't share the view....

you've only got to read the papers and look at the photographs of the perpetrators that are always published...

obviously one would never get the 'offical' facts to substantiate % No's of Professional Medical People struck off from immigrant backgrounds who are involved in malpractice court cases....

wonder why.....

and lets not start on the racist chesnut.....thats all to easy a weapon...

everytime you see a Doctor involved in a malpractice case or sexual abuse case involving patients...they're always foreigners.....

some poor 14 year old boy got killed the other day because an Indian Doctor stuck a needle in the wrong place....no such thing as joining Tony Martin for him though....oh dear me no.....

What about harold Shipman?

You can't put people in prison for proffesional errors - And the fact the doctor was indian isn't relevant.

I think the point Unc's trying to make is not a racist one but a training one,the potentional for them to be good doctors is there but the training they recieve in other country's isn't quite good enough...that said i'd rather have a sub-standard doctor than no doctor at all.

why not...people go to prison every day for 'Professional errors'

the substance injected into that poor boys spine was lethal....kills every time......

someone should be held responsible...its not good enough to say it was 'an error'....truth is a disturbingly large number of Doctors from third world backgrounds are simply not good enough....as I've also said...you'll never get statistics to back it up because our politically correct masters will surpress such information....

it is however a belief shared by many Doctors and Nurses in this country today....

I've already said...Shipman wasn't incompetent....just the opposite in fact......deranged..yes...mass murderer...yes....

incompetent...hardly....

I had to wait about 5 minutes for an ambulance, and then they sorted my legs/back out in about 4 weeks, some people have all the luck

Maybe its true - if you live in St Albans, they realise how important you are and treat you more quickly

It makes sense - my closest NHS hospital with an accident & emergency dept is Oldchurch in Romford - aweful place. Have an appointment with a doc in Harold Wood hospital this afternoon - apparently it's one of the worst in the country. Hope I leave with the same amount of limbs I went in with! (Actually, I was born in that hospital - guess that clears up a few things ).

of course they do EFM.....where do you think they train then...at universities over here....

a good friend of mine is an Iraqi Doctor...trained in Iraq and now a specialist private practioner over here....he told me that the standard of medical education overseas in third world countries is shocking....he went back to medical school over here before he practiced...

no mate...they train in their own countries and at their own Universities and then answer the bloody adverts placed in THEIR newspapers by the NHS...so...its off to...

THE PROMISED LAND....with all the family....

You wouldn't visit this Iraqi doctor though would you ?!

Course the teaching is going to be substandiad in the third world countries they don't even have bloody clean water nevermind x-ray plates.

Don't actually know what my point was

well in fairness EFM..we were discussing their competence and their training...not their economic contributions to the country....

I have a singular view on immigration....

migration throughout the world is neccasary for any states survival...that's an economic fact....but there is no regimentation nor control over immigration in this country....

yeah...I'm all for it....the right way and in the correct spirit....

does it not piss you off when you see asian kids born in this country wearing the national shirt of pakistan and flying their national flag at Lords....it does me...

thats whats wrong with immigration......Canv is correct in his belief...do it as in the American way...swear allegiance and learn the culture.....nothing to do with creed.. colour or religion....

stop trying to swerve the issue Urchino...I never mentioned religion....

I have no interest in religion but respect people that do......which includes both my Mother and Partner...

and no...I'm not talking about the wearing of a shirt as such....the kids I refer to were born here...choose to live here and work here...but also choose to support another countries cricket team.....

they are not Pakistani kids Urchino...they are english..(British)

To me it's to do with being brought up like many children follow theyre parents football teams, they do te same with there national team...I don't see tte big deal. My point is that culture often has a big link through family like religon such as children walking around with Celtic and Irish shirts when they are born in England.

As for this Iraqi Dr but you said "these sort of professional immigrants can fk right off...I wouldn't see one thats for sure..."

I'm confused i'm going to go back to the football forum
