Fantastic. I've never seen us create so many chances. OK, the only downside is we were a bit profligate, that could easily have been been double figures in the first half alone, but it was so clear we were going to win comfortably... And an enjoyable game (for us) too.

Some of my favourite moments...

The completely unforced own goal to open the scoring, no idea what their guy was attempting to do - trying to head clear? in which case he missed direction by about 120 degrees - but the keeper had no chance.

Absolutely brilliant 3rd goal - throw from Rob, to defender, to winger, to Chenns' feet & he took two touches to round the keeper and score. Three perfect balls making the textbook break.

And then the comedy 4th, with Fagan just waiting on the near post completely unmarked through 3 attacks, played onside the whole time by their defender on the far post, gets an inch-perfect lob and just has to duck his head to nod it in...

The second half they actually seemed to wake up and start playing more as a team, but it only kept the damage down... and led to the bizarre moment where their goalie made two excellent saves, scrambled the ball, and I thought maybe pulled a muscle somewhere in all that. So he flings the ball out & collapses, asks to be substituted, gets reminded they've used all three... and starts taking his gloves off anyway as one of their outfield players comes in.

Bracknell goalies don't have a good time against us, I guess... remember Gordon's charge some years back which finished with a crunch and a stretcher?

Shame Rico's goal was called offside, that was harsh. But even without that we could have had three or four more, at least.

And 8 and 11 points clear of 2nd and 3rd, with +8/+9 GD respectively to balance their two games in hand... it's up to us and it's really looking good. And of course we've got the best mascot in the league dance%20%282%29.gif

I feel for the bracknell fan(s) who bothered today. That wasnt men against boys that was worse! What their goalkeeper did was shocking. It's debatable if he really was injured but i think he used it as an excuse. Throwing the gloves down when he realised they had used their subs isnt a great attitude. He made some good saves even if his kicking was very poor.

It's not often you can come out of a game having won 6-0 and thinking you should of had more!!!

It's understandable if the keeper was sick of the game, after all he'd been left so poorly protected for most of it but was only at fault personally for one goal (maybe two, if you think he could have kept hold after one save and it got put back in, but it was a good save to start with) - of course there were two goalmouth clearances by other players also to credit.

AS to his kicking, it did seem better in the 2nd half - the wind was against him in the first half, maybe that contributed, but he didn't get much power in the kicks. Certainly his distribution/angle was not good in any case: he was better throwing.

But if it was pique more than injury when he went off, it is a shame: lets him down after a pretty valiant effort. Of course, if he's having this every week - in front of opposition fans mocking his team and efforts - I can understand it...

I thought we looked awesome and they were the poorest team I have seen Windsor play in decades. Fair play to them though they didn't try and kick and spoil the game and in the second half tried to play some football. Behind the goal we were trying to think of a poorer team but we really couldn't, and on that basis I think 6-0 flattered them immensely. I bet Rico, Chenns, Gavin and Victor are kicking themselves they didn't grab a hatful each, also felt sorry for Gavin, big chance to get a hat-trick and pulled off at half time.

As for the keeper, if he wasn't injured that was disgraceful behaviour to throw down your gloves and basically have a tantrum. he had been the man of the match for them up until then. Poor kicking but kept the score down to under double figures.

Thought the ref had a good game, didn't throw cards around and used common sense, the linos however were poor, first half he missed everything and the second half Rico's goal should have stood, he was nowhere near offside.

I have to say their players were funny as well, the number 3 had a bit of a laugh and the keeper, bless him, with the dismissive wave in jest. Takes a lot to take a right royal hammering (pun intended) and still laugh, but if they manage to stay up can anyone see them being any better next year, although could the be any worse?!?!?!?

Gallows Humour! They'd need a new manger able to bring in good players to stand a chance as it's clear the new one cant rustle up decent players at that budget. That said it might be an impossible job with the money and the pitch at bracknell. Good luck to them but relegation and rebuilding could be good for them in the long run.

Fagan at right back was great too see. Excellent player!

The only way is down for Bracknell and I agree, it will probably benefit them in the long run if they can hold onto a manager and maintain some stability. But aren't there plans for a new ground there? I guess relegation could hamper things.

I feel for them though - after we've been down the bottom of the league in recent seasons with teams like Bracknell, Newport IOW etc, I really didn't think they could get much worse - but they've managed it in spectacular style!

Firstly may I say I thought it was brilliant to see and hear such an enthusiastic and vocal crowd at the ground on saturday, and I must comment on how it created a great non-league atmosphere, depsite being on the receiving end of some less than complimentary chants (have to love football banter) I really enjoyed Saturday from an footballing perspective, as it's always great to see home fans turn out in numbers.

Just wanted to state categorically that I did not throw the gloves down in a tantrum (cheers lads :') nor was it a weak injury, I actually tore part of the ligament in my ankle two weeks prior in training, and having been unavailable last week (fortunately the game was cancelled) and unable to train the Thursday preceding the match, playing Saturday was a bit of a risk. It was more than a little weak, but I was very much up for this game, and wanted us to do well, as I always do.

NB. 1) Although it was my non-kicking or plant foot, (I love how you guys give pretty damn good technical analysis so I'll reciprocate) when you plant to kick the ball, invariably you roll over on it ( the non kicking foot), which can hurt if your ankle is strained, so I struggled in the first half to plant it in a fashion which didn't hurt like buggery, and having had painkillers shortly before the game they clearly hadn't kicked in until the beg. of the second half, where I came out early to practise a few, and felt a lot more confident with the execution of my distribution, admittedly the wind always helps aswell!

2) I came off, because when I made the save prior to 'rolling the ball off' I made it with my feet, spec. my ankle, and I felt an immediate sharp pain shoot down my leg, I actually hobbled to get myself back into position for Pearcy's response on goal. Given the circumstances, tough and vital future fixtures, and the extremely already swollen state of my ankle, I did not want to aggrevate it further, which is why I made the decision to come off, as unfortunately we do not have the aid of a wonderful physio to support my recovery (I know how good she is, as I spoke to her post-match and she gave great advice) 'grinning and bearing it' so i thought in this case, was not an answer, despite the fact we had uneven numbers.

As a team it is frustrating to be beaten, consistently, but I and we have thicker skin than that, if I was that fed up I would have tooken up on offers weeks ago, but I am determined to do well for Bracknell and the coaching staff, as much as they are determined to do well for the club.

On a nicer note, thank you all for your kind applause when I came off, it was appreciated, very much so :)

Kyle

Fair enough, I take back my comments about throwing the gloves down, it just looked a bit like that when you were on the floor in a lot of pain, told there was no sub you seemed to get up and have a bit of a hissy fit and looked okay. But i guess that was more to do with frustration at the situation than anything else. And I did say IF you weren't injured, and clearly you were. hope you get better soon as you were, as has been mentioned on here a few times, Bracknell's man of the match.

I would also like to say how nice to get a player respond on here, and not all moaning about this that or the other but to give his side of the story and be gracious in defeat. We have met a few keepers who surely would not have been as, how can we say, generous to us lot behind the goal having shipped 5 goals and then been forced to come off and then slated, unfairly, in a forum. So thanks Kyle and good luck for the rest of the season, I fear you may need an awful lot of it.

I agree with Fuzzy. Thanks Kyle for coming on here and shedding light on your situation and still be man enough to take our banter on the chin and still give us some praise.

You made some great saves and if it hadn't of been for you things would be alot worse.

Although it will be tough for you guys to stay up I hope you do just some we can still keep some of our local derbies.

Best of luck for the future Kyle.

First of all, it's great to hear the player's side, it's not something we often get on here, so thanks and well done for that!

Next, I did think one of those quickfire saves had hurt something: and I thought I'd seen you rub your lower leg while you were sat (which was right in front of where I was standing), so I wondered if it was a pulled tendon or similar - but then you seemed mostly to be walking OK when you came off, so I wasn't sure... I didn't think of an existing injury, because you'd looked fit until then.

Not a nice decision to have to make - make an injury worse, in a losing cause, or come off and leave the team a man down... I think you did the right thing, to be honest, there's no sense in crippling yourself for the rest of the season for the sake of 15 minutes' play. If the game had been very even, it might actually have been a harder call. But no wonder you were hacked off at having to stop.

I do hope it heals fast and you're back to full fitness soon - although obviously we'll understand if you opt out of the return fixture at the very last minute and put an understudy in place

One suggestion - how about getting someone else to take place kicks for you, until your leg feels fine again? We went through months like that with one goalie a few years back, I was actually starting to wonder if he was truly carrying an injury or just so poor at kicking he wanted the excuse... Anyway, this would spare your leg the pain and might even let you return a bit sooner. (And it would let the other player know just how hard it is to put the kick in the right place every time...)

Thanks again for the explanation, and good luck for your season & Bracknell's... see you again in April!

Awww shall we all have a group hug? I feel all warm inside reading this thread...ahem!

:getwell: soon and thanks for coming on here explaining things..if only the frome keeper did the same! Good luck and i certainly do not envy you being in goal for bracknell at the moment but keep fighting as you never know what will happen at other clubs. Be good to see a double celebration last game of the season. Promotion and survival!

Got to love the comment on the bracknell forum saying it was anything but a rout however! Never ever shall i see a more one sided game than that!
