Can anyone tell me how to set up so that I go to the first unread post in a thread rather than to the top of the thread please. Also is this forum very s l o w for anyone else with the word "loading" continually coming up.

Next to each thread (provided it has a new post) is a red arrow. click on that instead of the headline and that should bring you to the unread post. the forum seems fine when loading for me in fact i just timed it and it takes about 1 1/2 seconds to load (give or take a mili second)

 

Just looked and in your settings under general settings at the bottom of the page are two options 1=View New Content Method 2 Forum Results Display

In the 1st one i have set Show me all new content since my last visit. In the 2nd i have set Show results like a forum.

 

This seems to work fine for me even if i click on the heading of a thread it still brings me to the new post.

JL - which browser (Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Firefox etc.) are you using?

 

 

Thanks Brightside I will be putting back in a change that when you click on the subject you will go to the first unread post, but I am awaiting to do an upgrade - so will add this afterwards. In the meantime the arrow to the right of posts will work.

I am using IE7 but in fairness my PC does slightly pre-date the ark. It runs on XP though.

I have just made a change to the config here - not sure if it will help you though, but the setting was wrong - so have corrected that.

 

Windows 7 should be fine - obviously make sure you are up to date http://www.update.microsoft.com/ should assist you in this.

 

If you are finding the shoutbox causes you an issue, then you can disable this by clicking on 'My Prefs'.
