FOX HUNTING

Recommended Posts

yea or nay? are new labour really concerned about fluffy mr foxie woxie? or is it class hatred?.. how can killing an animal for fun be justified in the 21st century? but then arnt foxes designed to be chased by dogs? much like they are designed to kill chickens..?

hunting is the best way to cull the fox population, much better than shooting or poisoning and it keeps thousands in work..

personally i think fox hunting should stay, it is a fantastic spectacle and i really couldnt give a toss about the fox, as i said they would onyl be shot or poisoned and die slowly anyway..

please do not get involved in this dicussion if you are prone to emotional outbursts or calling everyone a racist nazi if they dont agree with you, this obviously applies mainly to new age labour pinkos, right wing loons who long for the return of the empire can say what they want of course

I'm not sure on this. My main argument for keeping it would be "If thousands of people get enjoyment out of it, and only a few foxes die - then it has an overall beneficial effect" but then you could respond to that by saying "What if all those people got enjoyment out of killing people?"

I don't really think its that important an issue, and I also think vegetarians are the only ones who are really in a position to argue against it anyway

My point is - if you really value the lives of animals so highly, you can't justify killing them just for the pleasure of eating them. As vegetarians prove, its not necessary to eat meat.

I see what you're getting at (not that I agree), but you said in your previous message that only vegetarians had the right to oppose it, which is rubbish.

Thanks, Lib-ster, I'm a veggie, and personally I think any hunting of animals is appalling, but in this case CANV has hit the nail squarely on the head. This is just labour's way of attacking a minority of our population, of whom, I'm sure, they are jealous.

The number of foxes killed is negligable compared, with fish hoiked out of rivers. You don't see Labour banning fishing. The reason is most people who fish are common northerners who can't afford to buy fish from a shop. (Lazy b*st*rds!)

For the sake of a few foxes I don't think it's worth sacrificing a vital part of our English culture.

And I bet it's great fun too!

It did amuse me to see the green welly brigade protesting outside Westminster yesterday though. Such a bunch of inbreds.

I agree with what Laz and CANV are saying, although I don't particularly care one way or another, but I wholly disagree with what you are saying, Librarian.

For example Libbo, you are not an asylum seeker, you do not know any asylum seekers, yet you are very much in favour of them all living over here. So what "moral right" do you have, in order to form an opinion about that one??

A - I do know some asylum seekers, but that is irrelevant.

B - my argument is that people who eat animals, can't argue that animals shouldn't be killed for people's enjoyment (the main argument of the anti fox-hunting brigade) Your point about asylum seekers bears no relation to this argument at all, there is no logic to it. If i were to complain about asylum seekers in once sentence, and then be a proponent of them in another, then your point would be relevant, but I don't - so its not.
