Which clubs at step 7 appear to be odds on favourities to win their respective Leagues?

Kelvendon Hatch appear odds on in the Essex Olympian League to make the jump into the ESL,while Blunham in the Bedfordshire League look a good bet unless the pre season favourities get rid of their underacheiving manager.

8 points from the first 11 matches now for the odds on pre season favourities in the Bedfordshire League, if the manager had an ounce of decency you would assume he would walk, dont hold your breath though.

Lesbos - To be fair I think the Manager was sold a pup by Loosely and Sal and had no idea what he was letting himself in for, he should have done what Tony Armitage did when he saw the light and simply walked away, did you know Tony is pulling up trees at Langford now

Yes Rhodes i heard that Tony had made the step up to Langford, im a bit confused because for months i was told he was the professional and hard working half of the management duo at SA but when he walked out i read on the SSML forum that he was in fact hopeless, now Langford have appointed him?? its all beyond me.

Lesbos - Tony has hit the ground running, sorry sprinting, at Forde Park, the first thing he did was recommend the brilliant Adam Wombwell to the Club, who had been unsettled at Southill Alexander for a while, and they signed him on the spot, Langford were immediately rewarded with a performance similar to Bobby Moore's against Brazil in 1970 last Saturday against Welwyn Garden City. As you know Tony got a raw deal at Southill, they even reduced him to the ranks of fitness Coach and that was the straw that broke the camel's back.

What's Tony's role at Langford Rhodes? Isn't my old mate Roy Ryall the manager there any more?

Horace, I believe Tony has been taken on as one of their Fitness Coaches, oddly enough the same position he was at Southill and one that despite Rhodes colouring of the story - a title that he himself insisted upon.

What was his official title then Loose?

Fitness Coach NF, he specifically corrected anyone who addressed him by the title of Assistant Manager, something I did by accident one day. His choice.

Tremendously hard working, always always first to turn up at training, dedicated I'd say.

I've only just noticed the activity on this thread so excuse the late response. Whether Tony Armitage was or was not Fitness Coach at Southill Alexander is beside the point as he was treated like something the cat dagged in by the Club after showing huge loyalty and commitment, at least Loosely acknowledges that he was tremendously hard working, always first to turn up at training and totally dedicated however that doesn't even begin to describe his qualities, I can see him Coaching Langford in the near future unless he moves higher up the Pyramid.

well your on form today Stiffy, but Horace don't let him put a wager on this one Tony has been coaching at Langford since before Xmas. Tony's a good guy, he's moved on & so have we. We've chatted on FB recently & there isn't any hard feelings on my part. I enjoyed working with him.

Is that the same Langford who missed relegation by winning on the very last day of the season? Their form seemed to get worse as the season went on, unlike their near neighbours Southill, whose form went it he opposite direction. Perhaps they weren't fit enough?

I think it would be very unfair to lay any blame for our poor start at Tony's door Horace. I think that attitudes in the squad at the time underestimated the strength of The Beds league & we deservedly got a few slaps round the face. We changed it about a bit at Xmas & the lads we brought in just clicked with the lads we kept faith with. We've always had talented players, but attitude & team spirit goes a long way to making a successful team.

Horace - I think what Steve is trying to say is that the Club had a lot of prima donnas initially who thought they could sail through the season and that they had the God given right to win promotion with maximum points, it didn't work that way

But what about Langford? What changed, to turn them from a top half team to only missing relegation by a whisker - that's what I want to know.

now now Clifford, I wasn't exactly saying that. We underestimated the strength of the league to a degree, but it was never going to be a maximum points job. I've been in football & Step 7 for far too long to expect that. Even the best teams have off days, we just had too many before Xmas ! Lol

Tony is a good coach, but by you associating yourself with him. People will queue up to unfairly take a pop. I suggest to keep quiet because it's all unnecessary.
