Billericay/Chelmsford Player Dealings....

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the information. Danny Hockton was with us for almost all of the 2001/2 season. We paid a fee for him to Dover. Up until around early November 2001 Danny was awesome. He was amongst the top goalscorers in the Doc Martens Premier and brimmed confidence. Then he got an injury and lost fitness and confidence and was never the same player. His season ended early with a hamstring pull. He carried quite a bit of extra weight towards the end of his time with us. He was not an automatic selection with Crawley in 2002/3.

I don't know where you get "pretty certain" from, on Saturday Justin seemed sure that Penn was staying next season. I'll let you have Jamie Wallace though....

For what it's worth I reckon Jamie is a decent player, when fit. It's that last caveat that has dominated his time with us though, in two seasons I can think of only one or maybe two occasions when he's been fit for 5 or more consecutive games. He's a good bloke who will score goals given the chance, and he always gives 100%. His football style isn't the prettiest, so he should fit right in in the DM league <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> He had a hernia op over the summer so may take a little time to get fit over pre-season. Past clubs include Dagenham, Ford and Grays.

Well I have 2 say Chelmo have got a couple of good players. Jamie Wallace wasnt the most gifted of players but he gave a 110% for the club even playing for the club when their were a few injurys to other strikers when his son was in hospital but he did need a fairly long run in the team before becoming settled in the team. Russell Penn is a player who again gives 110% and is a very good and can play at centre back, full back or as holding man in mdfield but he does tend to get sent off rather a bit.

Don’t despair fellow blues fans, there may be something in the story about Danny Hockton, but Justin is expecting Russell Penn to report for pre-season training this weekend, so once again treat all player movement rumours with caution. Now what can anyone tell me about Leon Hunter?

Leon is a very good player ,scored some vital goals for Heybridge last season and is a very good holding midfielder. Would be a good addition to the team in my view.
