Recommended Posts

I was in the Bluewater(shopping centre in Kent)HMV last night, where they also have a sale on,not sure if they have the same things on offer but i noticed they were selling Trainspotting on DVD,a brilliant film. I saw Californication for about £6(you probably have it but if you dont BUY IT!).I saw the Coral's album for under a tenner there somewhere if you like them. There were loads of things i saw last night but my minds gone blank now!

Not in the sale, but I saw something which intrigued me, and you musical chaps might be able to help me out.

British Sea Power - The Decline Of British Sea Power

Any ideas? Should I purchase this?

Cheers, I don't have Californication because I used to feel an aversion towards RHCPs (long story, to do with friends who liked Brian Adams ) but I do like their recent stuff so I shall probably get it.

MKJ - I must admit I'd never heard of British Sea Power until I saw a few of their t-shirts at Glastonbury, their album seems to have some good reviews , so might be worth checking out?

I'm listening to one of the songs now, called "blackout",it's strange,it randomly has sitar's and what sounds like someone hitting a bin during the song which would otherwise be ok,it's a bit middle of the road and it REALLY reminds me of someone but i can't think who.

Chili Peppers? Never done it for me. Can't see what all the fuss is about.

Listen to tracks like, under the bridge, rollercoaster, road trippin, scar tissue, californication etc and you should see it..and i'm still half asleep so have forgoten alot of their songs. I'll be honest,i don't see what the fuss with the new album,"by the way",is,its ok...but not as good as the earlier one's. Can't wait to see them at V!

Don't mind the Chillis but I'm leaning towards Zeal and Trev with this, don'y know what all the fuss is about.

People who like Coldplay, Chillis and David Gray are people who are too scared to like alternative music but want to seem like they have good music taste. Your average fan of these bands will have a CD collection littered with Kylie and Now 31 as well.

British Sea Power- They get played a lot on Xfm, personally I don't really like them, I just find it a bit too dull. Having said that, I haven't heard that much of their stuff. MKJames, I think you should do what I normally do and just buy it anyway!

EFM'sL- I think you can get 'Scum' the movie on video for about a fiver in HMV so I'd recommend that. Also, the Royksopp albums going cheap and I got a 3cd punk box set for 4.99 the other day!

Thank God for that. I thought I was the only person who thought that.

Trev you're not mate. I think the Chillies are vastly overated.
Californication is an OK song but I really don't see what the fuss is about. Lyrically they're not all that!
