Windsor v Bracknell

Windsor Rebel

Should be a cricket score on Saturday, do you think?

You say that but they only lost 2-1 to AFC Totton. Granted we've taken back Dave Pearce who did well for them so they have been even further weakened but with it being a 'derby' perhaps they'll fight abit. Be good to give a few sqaud players a go too what with us playing a tough game on the tuesday.

That said improving our goal difference has to be in our thoughts as if totton win their games in hand they could go top again.

Bracknell games are always unpredictable especially at their place.

I'd like to think we'd win this comfortably but knowing the league and the way teams step up to play the top sides this is not usually the case.

Saturday is hopefully going to be good all round. Scotty the Stag, New Polo shirts and 3 points should do the trick :)

P.S. I know the bloody Bracknell Drummer will wind me up though grrrr!!!

3 points is what matters, then lets look at the goal difference!!!!

A win is paramount, how often do teams win the important, tough games and then stumble in the 'easy' 'nailed on' victory. We need to get our feet back on the ground and concentrate.

I agree resting a few players may not be a bad idea, but if key players want to play and they are fit and mad for it, then why not?!?!? Maybe give pearce a start and see if he can step up, maybe give Chenns a rest, or we can rest anyone with a knock. But not too many changes, there are no easy games at this level however i am sure Scotty won't let the players get away with relaxing and taking it easy. With plenty of cover in different positions players are fighting for their positions which is great.

But new signing Scotty the Stag is centre stage Saturday, lets hope he inspires a great victory and brings a few extra fans to the club.

Humpty, how many scarves did we sell Saturday, I saw loads around the ground and I'm not surprised as the quality and look is superb. Well done, keep up the good work!!

Bracknell are rather a bogey team to us, we seem to lose almost as often as we win... I'll be satisfied with improving our GD by 1. Of course I'll be happy if we do win by a hatful!

Agree, though, we probably don't want to rest anyone not injured and we certainly shouldn't take it lightly.

Fuzzy,

We sold 23 out of 47.

We have been asked by some supporters to put a few by for them to buy on Saturday.

We have 13 left to sellm against Bracknell.

Ta for the comments.

We also have the new badge in which has a proper pin on it and not a push on.

We will also have new polo shirts in the shop on Saturday as well.

Humpty,

Presumably you will have a number of large size polo shirts for Saturday but have you any to fit a 6 year old boy?

And on the Bracknell match, I hope the Colonel doesn't take any chances and plays our strongest team. Reading the Bracknell forum yesterday they took their first team to Boreham Wood for a reserve match (?) on Saturday and lost 4-3 so they know how to score even if it is against a reserve team......

We could easily add the bench from saturday into the first 11 on saturday and not notice much difference such is the quality of the sqaud at the moment. Idea chance to let David Pearce and Matt Mooney get a full 90 mins. VTFC is going to be a very very tough test next tuesday so we need the 'key' players as fit as possible

Sorry Claudius but as a rule we don't order any kids sizes as we do not get much call for them.

If I knew we had a few children who would order some kind of tops I would make a special effort to try and get some in.

Claudius,

The polo's are £15 each.

There are 5 or 6 pens left.

We are open a couple of hours before the game and at half time.

See you Saturday.

We do miss the local derbies - Slough especially (and not just for the matches!), as they brought really good numbers to us not just when they were sharing but after they moved to Beaconsfield. Really, the league distribution did us no favours. These days Bracknell probably are our closest remaining neighbour - well, Bedfont are now, of course, but that's not exactly a 'local rivalry' - and they've never been renowned for their travelling crowds: then there's Hayes and Uxbridge, both the wrong side of the M25 and really looking to London rather than outside.

Next closest is probably Thatcham. Enough said.

So if we get promoted, I hope Slough do as well... at least we'll have a decent local match to look forward to. Otherwise, depending on who else moves up/down, we might be better off applying to switch back to the Ryman: assuming Farnborough do move up, the nearest we'd have to a derby fixture would be Didcot.

Speak for yourself! We dropped 6 points against Slough and SYCOB last season granted SYCOB were a good side but they were up for it against us where as another side of that skill wont be as pumped up for it if you ask me. And the loss against Slough was all because it was a derby game and everything goes out of the window. So yes we'll miss the slough fans turning up giving us their money and going off to the wrong side of the river having lost by 6 goals to 2 ( sorry couldnt resist) but burnham and sycob didnt bring any fans in anyway!

Oh and next year i wouldnt mind, if we went up,being moved into the ryman again. The travelling in the league above is huge!!

Hovis I agree, having followed Windsor around the Ryman league there is nothing more soul destroying than a trip round the M25 to Essex on a Tuesday night. Distances are more but the travelling is nicer.

To be honest I don't give a damn where we are as long as we win the league this year, it is so important to go up and be playing at he next level.

Frome is going to be very tough , but after the lasy two performances we can do it, and we can also go into 2010 undefeated, what an acheivement that would be!!!
