Bingo

Recommended Posts

Mrs Zeal and I decided to head up north to Luton yesterday, for a spot of 10-pin bowling, and, unbeknown to me, Mr Zeal decided to dig out her old Gala Bingo membership card.

So, I spent two hours around lunchtime in the company of about 200 'old dears' who obviously fritter away their pension every day on this pointless passtime, in the hope of making a few quid to buy 20 B&H and some fish and chips on the way home.

I mean, not only are they gambling money on what numbers come out of the bag first, they don't even get to choose their numbers. It's even more pointless than doing the Pools.

Did I win? Not a sniff!

3 strikes 'the turkey' .... top tips from the experts here are

1. if you dont spin it and just lob it straight look at the arrows on the lane which are about 1/5 of the way down and aim for them, not the skittles

2. use a gay light ball not the 16 pounder

Isn't the lottery a bit like that? The choice of numbers is completely arbitary: one set has just a much chance of winning as any other. The only advantage to choosing your own is that you could pick less likely combinations that no one else would.

I think the lottery prizes should be limited to say, 10 times an annual charity. That way those that work harder can win more, but lazy northern people can't. Furthermore, the unemployed should not be allowed to enter, as they can't afford it, and don't deserve to win anyway.
