Amanda Knox - Guilty or Innocent

Recommended Posts

So Rhodes was right all along, got to respect the bloke really, with so many doubters on here, some that have just a tad too convenient leanings towards anti USA sentiments that it appears to have clouded their judgement somewhat

Interesting take on things Eastside, not sure what you're going on about but maybe you need to check the title of the thread again. "Amanda Knox - Guilty or Innocent" - well the girl has been found guilty of lying to the police and falsely accusing someone else (Patrick Lumumba), she's a convicted criminal so the answer is guilty. We'll never know what her motivation was to have knowledge of a killer when she supposedly wasn't there and supposedly was innocent of the charge of murder but bit strange if you've had nothing to do with it but there you go. Guilty, thats the facts. Police aren't looking for anyone else now.

Haven't particularly noticed any anti american sentiments on here, maybe you could try and prove that charge or maybe your judgement is just "clouded" what with having your head up Rhodesy's bum lol.

, the Italian legal system have a lot to answer for as she has arguably lost the best four years of her life which she will never get back

The allegedly innocent Ms Knox also had a lot to answer for, and she paid the price for lying by deservedly spending three years in prison. The Italian legal system would have had much less to answer for, had she not lied in the first few days of the inquiry and its now possible a murderer is still at large. The real victims of any miscarriage of justice are the Kercher family who may now never know the truth, or receive the justice they deserve for the death of their loved one.

Missunderstood - Amanda probably thought at the time that Patrick Lumumba had something to do with Meredith's murder, that's not a crime is it and Lumumba did seem a very suspicious character

In what way did he seem suspicious?

I see that Amanda is entitled to half a million Euros in compensation following her wrongful arrest, conviction and imprisonment. The figure is the maximum that can be paid out by the Italian Government for a miscarriage of justice however she may be advised not to bother to put in a claim given the sensitivity of the public's perception of her and she may not wish to appear greedy with a sky high mountain of lucrative tv and newspaper offers for her story on the table. Amanda's biggest supporter Donald Trump has predicted that she could become a big star and build some deserved dividends from her wrongful imprisonment, what's the betting she will be a contestant on next years US Celebrity Apprentice.

Horace - Lumumba has clearly milked the allegation for all it's worth and can now look forward to a nice cheque for £18,000, not a bad return for doing nothing over the last four years

Has she actually been declared 'not guilty'? Anyone think she'll be pushing for compensation from the Italian court system?

No she was convicted of a crime and given a custodial sentance. Of course she served that.

Not sure how she can get compensation having been found guilty and having got a crimanal record.

Rhodes will not admit that she was found guilty, as he seems to like only the version of truth that he spouts, but she was. Fact.

Actually he was fully cleared whereas Amanda Knox was not, I think you will find.

At a retrial where all the facts were presented, she was cleared of the mire serious crime.Given the blatant stitch up by the italian authorities in this case it's hard to believe anything they say or tell us.

As for Anti American biased, you only have to read this entire thread to work out who is anti USA and who is not.

There's been far more anti Italian biased than anti USA bias, a country who incidentally thinks nothing of locking people up for years on end without even giving them the benefit of a fair trial.

Horace - No Lumumba, he sounds Nigerian or Ghanaian doesn't he which says it all really and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he knows a lot more than he is letting on about Meredith's murder that night

Perhaps we should do the same to anyone who is a possible enemy to this country

No, most definitely not, everyone is entitled to a fair trial, which is exactly what they get in Italy.

Hysterical that the defender of the oppressed isn't spitting his dummy out about anti-african bias.

Bollox.can't stand Africans

Which reminds me of

I've travelled this old world of ours from Barnsley to Peru

I've had sunshine in the arctic and a swim in Tinbuktu

I've seen unicorns in Burma and a Yetti in Nepal

And I've danced with ten foot pygmies in a Montezuma hall

I've met the King of China and a working Yorkshire miner

But I've never met a nice South African.

No he's never met a nice South African

And that's not bloody surprising man

'Cause we're a bunch of arrogant b***tards

Who hate black people

I once got served in Woolies aften less than four week's wait

I had lunch with Rowan Atkinson when he paid and wasn't late

I know a public swimming bath where they don't piss in the pool

I know a guy who got a job straight after leaving school

I've met a normal merman and a fairly modest German

But I've never met a nice South African.

No he's never met a nice South African

And that's not bloody surprising man

'Cause we're a bunch of talentless murderers

Who smell like baboons

I've had a close encounter of the twenty-second kind

That's when an alien spaceship disappears up your behind

I got directory enquiries after less than forty rings

I've even heard a decent song by Paul McCartney's Wings

I've seen a flying pig in a quite convincing wig

But I've never met a nice South African.

No he's never met a nice South African

And that's not bloody surprising man

'Cause we're a bunch of ignorant loudmouths

With no sense of humour - ha ha

I've met the Loch Ness monster and he looks like Fred Astaire

At the BBC in London he's the chief commissionaire

I know a place in Glasgow which is rife with daffodillies

I met a man in Katmandu who claimed to have two willies

I've had a nice pot noodle but I've never had a poodle

And I've never met a nice South African.

No he's never met a nice South African

And that's not bloody surprising man

Because we've never met one either

Except for Breyten Breytenbach and he's emigrated to Paris. (farts)

Yes he's quite a nice South African

And he's hardly ever killed anyone

And he's not smelly at all.

That's why they put him prison.
