Amanda Knox - Guilty or Innocent

Wealdstone Fan - Yes but Amanda Knox is innocent, you got proof of that about an hour ago

Here's a clip from Fox News folks of the moment, about an hour ago, when Amanda learned she was free to go home:

So she won her appeal.

Ian - Yes, perhaps you should close this thread now before the doubters such as Loosely, Keeps and Wealdstone Fan have a chance to come out of the woodwork and try to blacken Amanda's name

Probably her name will always be blackened because of the lies, and the suspicion that she may actually have played some part in the murder.

PR Men, a million plus dollar budget and the truth are not always obvious bedfellows.

Along with the 3 year sentence for falsely accusing Patrick Lumumba (why does any "innocent" person lie in a murder inquiry?) the Appeal Court have not found Knox innocent, their finding is that there is not enough remaining evidence to uphold the murder conviction. Bit like the Scottish verdict of "Unproven" which is not exactly innocent. Not as if the Italian Police are going to be looking for anyone else is it?

Lumumba still has a private civil case going ahead against Knox which the 3 year sentence will bolster so lets hope Knox makes plenty of money from her interviews and book deals and then there's still the Italian Police prosecution for Slander to go through, not that Knox will dare set foot in the country again.

Hard to see how her name could be "blackened" much more than she's already done herself.

Great call Rhodes - you "knew" she didn't do it, didn't you? As I said long ago, if she got out, it would be because the conviction would be viewed as unsafe. I still say she was there when Meredith was killed.

What I don’t understand is why Meredith’s family were in Perugia at all yesterday to hear the verdict, there seemed little or no point as it was a no win situation for them. They appear to be a very nice, unassuming and respectable family who have kept a dignified silence throughout and it’s a tragedy what has happened to them.

I see that Donald Trump was suggesting, prior to Amanda's release, that the US should boycott Italy over the case, he is quoted as saying 'there is a disturbing injustice surrounding the Amanda Knox case and I think we should boycott Italy until they do the right thing and free Amanda'. He has a fair point and I very much doubt that US and Italian relations will ever be the same again after this:

Some great pictures of a smiling Amanda with her family at Rome's Fiumicino Airport earlier today on their way home to Seattle via London;

Who gives a sh1t? Americans aren't wanted in Italy, they are disliked. Not as if they cover themselves in glory with their arrogance anywhere in Europe, the french can't stand them, won't even talk to them and will deliberately turn their backs towards them. Germans laugh at them and it's taken to a whole new level in Eastern Europe, places like Serbia and Croatia where the americans showed their true colours during the conflict in former Yugoslavia when the lack of a certain black stuff found no help coming from that direction.

Becoming lepers all over the rest of the world aren't they?

IMO Italy is by far the loveliest country in Europe and the Italians the nicest of people, I personally hope the Americans really do boycott Italy as it will make the country even better.

Exactly missunderstood, there's no country that can compare for the lifestyle and the beautiful countryside, history and architecture and it's not as if you see very many yanks there except for Venice and Rome, fewer would probably be appreciated.

So Rhodes was right all along, got to respect the bloke really, with so many doubters on here

Eastside Urchin - Thanks, I was always confident that Amanda would go free because at the end of the day she was innocent, you only have to look at her angelic appearance to know she is not capable of hurting a fly let alone a cold blood murder, the Italian legal system have a lot to answer for as she has arguably lost the best four years of her life which she will never get back
