Wow, defeats for Burnham and B'side mean it is all closer now.

Enfield and Takeley both dropped points to take advantage. Bethnal Green must be happiest tonight, also my Dark horses Stansted too.

Witham and Eton Manor are the form teams

We would be happy if not for some bored linesman putting he's flag up for no reason.

Does'nt suprise me mate, some of the linesman are shocking. We had one against Burnham recently who flagged offsides from goal kicks before anyone touched the ball. :bartshocked:

Only thing is, they get away with costing teams points and players bite up and then get booked/sent off

True i witnessed it!He was told earlier by southend referees secretary about the mistake but he did it again :futbolbud2: Having said that they are humans the same as us and make mistakes. Some cost you games but it's a hard job and there wouldn't be a football game without them.I believe if we all complained less,it would make it a lot easier for them than having people shouting in their ears reminding them of the laws of the game. It's like when you make a mistake as a player giving a goal away...you don't need that coach reminding you of that everytime. If that was the case then i'm sure you would stick 2 fingers up and leave. :)

Nice in theory but I beg to differ Coachy, at all levels whether its Premier League, Essex Senior League or Southend Sunday League......the FA harp on about this stupid respect programme.

At times the sheer arrogance and rudeness of officials is disgusting, also at times I have seen and heard them make obnoxious comments that are almost said to get a 'rise' from a player or bench so that they can get busy and issues cards.

Yes, they are human and yes we need them but some (and I will say some loosley) are just busy geeks who blatantly never played the game and dont really understand the game. Some are in it for the power, yes they must enjoy football but the power is nice for them too, I'm talking all levels. Match officials are there to manage a game and ensure that the laws of the game are adhered to....like the cliche says, a good referee is one that you dont notice.

They are there to officiate but Some officials speak to you as if you are on a criminal case or like you are inferior to them - at the end of the day, that loses respect straight away.

I accept that they will make mistakes like fans, players and managment do - but they dont fall foul of our mistakes. But that is life, mistakes happen. The problem is when they cost us and then refuse to accept mistakes.

My personal opinion (this is a forum) is that the responsibility lies with the Assessors. I mean they are the worst, they are toffee nosed so and so's and will back officials all day long. Maybe if there was some normal assesors, they could pick up on mistakes and ensure that referees and lino's improve and earn that Respect

Anyway, Im going now as I am actually boring myself :smashfreakb:

Assessors shouldn't be ex officials. It's is a simple as that. They should be people who've played the game at the level at which they are assessing referees. And I agree with the point about the rudeness. Some of the things that I've audibly heard (even when I'm standing at the back of the stands) that officials have said to players and coaching staff in this league it is ever likely that people react.
