Windsor 1 Totton 0

A great, great game to watch. On balance, Totton did play the better all round game of football and had the most chances, but that means nothing if they are not taken and you come away with nothing, that is football and the result is all that matters. Messers Wenger and Benitez are testament to just that.

Until the goal the keeper didn't have a shot to save. But, as soon as Windsor scored Totton went to pieces and Windsor dominated. Until that point it was one of the great football contests and both teams can be extremely proud.

Neither of us will see ability like that again this season, until the return match! Was Totton's manager right about his assessment of Osubu? Possibly, but hell, his pace was incredible and that was what created the goal and won the game in the end so credit to Victor where it's due, he had the last laugh. Speaking negatively before a game about an opponent is foolish and I hope it never happens again.

Congratulations Windsor, you beat us, again. I certainly hope you get promoted...via the playoffs! We could do with you having a February like we did last year.

Good luck for the rest of the season, I cannot wait for another cracking encounter.

Just one point I'd disagree with...

...Until the goal the keeper didn't have a shot to save. But, as soon as Windsor scored Totton went to pieces and Windsor dominated. Until that point it was one of the great football contests and both teams can be extremely proud.

...

There was of course a header (I think it was) cleared off the line in the first half... admittedly not by your keeper, one of the others got back and did really well to stop it.

But yes, even if that had ended 0-0 it would have been among the most exciting games I've seen at the Meadow, and having us nick it was just some very sweet icing on an already fine cake!

I do not want us to be faced with playoffs again... well, unless the alternative is staying down ;) But from the look of it so far this year it should come down to us & you, maybe with Paulton and Gosport in the mix... and I hope we've just seen the key game of the season. Early yet, I know, but it still could be decisive.

It was an exciting AND tactical game. I feel we let Totton come at us (a bit too much in my opinion) and then tried to hit them on the break. Or midfield and forwards suit this style of play having good pace up front and a strong passing midfield. This will always lead to a good team getting to our defence regularly. you can only play this if you have a very strong defence, and we do (thankfully). against weaker teams we can play attacking aggressive football, but we often seem to sit back and observe in the first half and then attack and exploit in the second. Hungerford was a prime example.

Fan's views are always subjective, you see the good points and can forget your opponent's good points. Bruce (when he got his studs changed at half time and stopped slipping over quite so much) was excellent again as was Seeds, something you probably don't notice so much as they don't always do the fantastic but a lot of the necessary donkey work. But when they do deliver the killer pass it is often sublime.

Also our defence was superb, and Bully showed why is one of the best keepers in the league.

Totton may have had more shots but as has been mentioned above, shots that don't go in mean nothing. i am sure every fan who read the article about Victor knew he would have something to do with the outcome of the game, you can't tempt fate and not expect a reaction.

I wonder what the return match will throw up, just three games from the end of the season it could really be the title decider, what an absolute cracker that could be.

Personally i would like to have won the league by then as i know it will be tough down there, and the playoffs are no fun whatsoever. But it should be a good day out whatever and I hope the game is played in the same spirit.
