How did that happen?

spot on chris i cant believe what i have just seen.we should have had at least 4 .that miss from the center of the goal 3 yards out was appaling and the defending at the end unbelievable.we looked good in the first half and played some good stuff.second half we struggled a bit but did not look like conceding till those last 20 minutes.MB has an awful lot of work to do to turn us into a decent team

Absolutely b***** annoyed. It was pathetic attempt, after going 2 nil up to keep all 3 points at home. The defending for their first was atrocious. Two of our defenders against one of their players. Both try to bundle him out of the ground without actually thinking about the challenge & he beats them both leaving them in a heap together.

I am wondering about the substitutions too. Sorry but those leaving,Joseph & Healy didn't seem to be injured. They were our two best players out there today & replacing them didn't help matters whatsoever.

If Butler wants to experiment 2-0 up isn't the time to do it. Coming away from there with only a point is a disgrace & ANY excuse won't wash with me after that.

Positive: Brilliant solo effort by Joseph.

Sorry Cookie I dont totally agree with you.Joseph did score a really excellent goal for which Robinson deserves an equal amount of praise for his forward run,but the goal was the only good thing Joseph did in the whole match.Yes he kept going past his full back but his delivery was awful and perhaps MB noticed that as well.Healy played well but our 2 best players were the 2 new centre backs.

I must say I feel sorry for Morris who it seems is going to Whitstable on loan when he is better than any midfielder at the club.Apart from Stubbs running his socks off again our midfield was as usual totally ineffective.

Joseph I agree wasn't doing THAT much but he was still a live threat up front when with the ball compared to our other frontmen & who knows,he might well have done a similar thing to his goal later on had he still been on the field.

Healey was lively in midfield today. Immediate substitution & they equalise though co-incidental that may well have been.

I Agree with you re:Stubbs.Lots of effort. Another positive then. Maybe in a few more days I'll mention a few more positives but not tonight.

Not at the game so should not comment really, but this substitution trend is a slight worry-as i posted following Cray game-i thought MB was wrong then to take off your captain and experienced Blackman for another youngster up front just after Cray had equalised and were on a roll.

This 'injection of pace' stuff is all very well on hard pitches, but not on a rain soaked pitch and as AC?DC posts-you can have all the pace in the world but with no end product its meaningless.

Is a pattern of strange substitutions developing here ?

In regards to Joseph, his goal was class, and deserving of being a match winner, but the rest of the time his touch was too heavy, and he was over hitting all his passes and crosses. Healy played well... until it started raining, then he seemed to fall asleep... Curtis had a great 2nd half, and Lacy played really well too. Stubbs was great, chasing everything down... Wilson on the other hand, did he complete any passes?

Im not really sure what happened. We clearly dominated most of the game, and how they managed to concede that first goal is beyond me. We only had like everyone back, and the guy practically ran it in. It's as if they're afraid of tackling

I actually stood up and just walked out of the ground without a word to anyone at the final whistle such was my annoyance. 2-0 up and cruising and Blackman could (should?) have made it three.. If there was going to be any more goals in the game then I thought we would get them such was our domination. Then one moment of switching off lets them back into it and all of a sudden we are all over the place. I cannot believe we threw two points away.

On a brighter note, without getting into the conversations about players already mentioned, I think that Wilson had a much better game today. Admittedly there were still a few loose passes but there were also a few quality, including one excellent through ball to Blackman and a cheekily dinked free-kick over their back line for the same player.

Also, whoever MB may be looking at bringing in I think that our next signing must be one of the visiting team today. Andray Baptiste is absolute quality entertainment. Not the most solid 'keeper but entertaining to watch!

I have to agree with that comment. I thought that we lost our shape at Cray when the substitutions were made, which is when we fell apart. Twice in a week is a bit of a clue. I hope MB is not substituting players just for the sake of it.

I have just booked an appointment at Rayners in Westgate as I am sure I see a different game to all of you moaners out there.

2 minutes into the game and Mr Mouth starts on having a go at Groombridge (I bet MB and the other managers of the 21 other clubs could make a decision about players so quickly). Then he starts having a go at AJ (was Foyt his relative?).

However his mate Mr TIME seems to think that certain players have no idea of it.

I just loved a comment I heard in the bar afterwards when Luke was told that someone in the crowd said he made another error today. The only mistake Luke made today is that (like Sam) he fidgeted to much on the bench.

Why does anyone want to come to Margate when we have fans like we have even booing there own players in the bar after the game. That made me ashamed to call myself a supporter of this club.

Right - my take on the game was that we "totally" dominated the first 45 minutes and the first 15 minutes or so of the second half..... so I hear everyone say why did we let go of such a commanding lead..... the answer to that would be the teams belief in themselves and maybe just maybe us as supporters getting right behind them when they are playing well.. I know there will be people on here that will say "they didnt play for 90 minutes" or "thats what they are paid for", well my answer is todays first half actually was the best Ive seen us play for absolutely ages, in fact a very ardent critic of MFC players who bemoans them even when they play well wassurprisingly very complementary of the way we were hacking the Harrow defence to pieces (Moany Mick :)).

Mr Butler did make some strange substitutes but he is in the know about the players fitness/strengths etc - so lets by all means bemoan the losing of two points but dont knock the players (and believe me there is one or two that I personally dont think are pulling their weight) lets get behind the boys and cheer them on - maybe we can spur them on to be better. "Rose tinted" ....... never.

Defence appalling all game. Better team would have scored 4 or 5 against us. Still not convinced with the keeper. Stubbs superb - wish we could have 11 of him. Good going forward, but still need a clinical striker. If we had a half-decent finisher, the game would have been over by half time.

No excuse for throwing away a two-goal lead, especially at home. MB must be wondering what on earth he has done to inherit this squad - most of them just aren't good enough. Need a massive re-vamp, starting at the back. If we continue to defend like yesterday, there's only one way we'll be heading this year.... towards Leatherhead and Burgess Hill next season.

We have to loose this backing off all the time in defence, make them earn their play, do not give them so much time, we even made them look good at times. I thought we lost it yesterday through lack of understanding. 2 new centre halves , had they had even met one another or any of their new team mates before warm up yesterday? As for the mid field, lift your heads, look, stop rushing the ball and keep it down, when you do, you are as good as anyone. For the first time in a long time I can feel a thrashing coming for someone and soon. As for booing your own players.........

I would just like to add that I was not actually annoyed with the performance itself just the fact that after being so comfortable at 2-0 there is no way that we should have not won the game. I agree with Blueblood that someone will probably get a tonking from us soon.
