Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say the better side won.

Thought we did not really get going until the last 20 minutes, but by that stage we could have had the game put beyond us as they missed some very good chances. I don't think we particually played badly, but were just not allowed to play by in my opinion the best side we've played this season that will be there or thereabouts.

Struggled a lot first half as we kept on playing balls in the air to their 6'0+ central defenders and full-backs which meant Sonner and Buchannan had a thankless task at times. When Martin came on and was more a threat to them in the air I thought we looked better. Also thought they were better in central midfield than us today.

Having said that were going to have to start picking-up points against the top teams though, as currently or record against the big boys is not good enough for where we want to be.

Lets hope we can get back to winning ways again Tuesday.

Very true although again we've not been beaten by a side playing fantastic football but one that were well organised and did the simple things well.

fair play ..to Bury Town..good all round performance from a very good side...and deserved their 3 points for sure...

Bury were a quality outfit, particularly their back four from what we could see behind the goal, but let's not shy away from the truth here: at times our midfield was missing again.

I'm not into naming and shaming players, and in the first half there was only two or three who could honestly say they had played well in the first 45, but too many times today the central midfield applied no pressure to a well organised Bury side, enabling them to slice through to their forwards with ease. It's a credit to our back four, and in particular Ricky Perks, that we weren't 0-3 down at halftime.

That said, I'm convinced after watching the last 20 minutes that we are still a force to be reckoned with, and hope the boys can take the lessons from today and come out rejuvenated for our game on Tuesday.

Yep have to agree on the day the best team won solid at the back and pace upfront the baldheaded midfielder wasn't bad either will be there abouts at the end of the season

The Bald Headed midfielder should be good because he has had plenty of experience.I have watched him many times playing for Ipswich and he has also played for Wigan and Luton plus several other league clubs. His name is Gavin Johnson.

I saw yesterday why a lot of people had Bury down as pre-season favourites. I reckon they're the best side we've played so far this season and completely bossed the game, especially in midfield, for large periods. As I've said before, when we have the ball, we look good - but I worry for us when we don't have it. Edgeworth and Kean looked overrun and ineffective. I do recognise however that Bury have a very strong spine to their side, with Gavin Johnson as mentioned above, but also Roscoe Hipperson at the back, who spent nine years at Histon during their climb up the pyramid to the Conference. They have a lot of others who have progressed right up from their youth side, so you'd expect a solid unit, which is what they looked.

We looked very threatening only in the last 20 minutes or so when we were chasing the game, and it's a shame it took us so long to put the pressure on. We were a little unlucky with Sonner hitting the bar, but really Bury should have been three in front before that.

Yet again it's a defeat to another one of the fellow challengers, but they've all been tight games. Whilst we might not win the league, we're still progressing well and can beat most teams in this league. We just need to bolster central midfield in my opinion.

Part of the problem I think is we're playing with out and out wide men and if they are either marked out of the game or not involved (as can happen with wingers) then we're effectively a two-man midfield and neither of the central two are defensively strong enough to give the back four any protection. Yesterday I'd have put another midfielder on at half time as we were being overrun and as it was only good fortune and some last ditch stuff from Perks that meant the game wasn't finished after 45 minutes.

Good call Ian the midfield was static were as Bury's was very effective, we dont have a holding midfielder perhaps thats our problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
